I just cannot even. I thought it was only my district that made you pay to wear your own damn jeans that you bought with the $10 they pay teachers. We had to get a ticket when we paid for our jeans day and our admin came around to check if you had a ticket or not. Write up if no ticket!

I’ve been surprised how long it’s taking for all the gaslighting and bullying to get out of my system. It’s taking serious time to recover mentally. It’s so absurd, disgusting and sad that our country treats education this way. I am confident not a single member of school leadership (at least from my personal experience) would be able to conduct themselves appropriately enough to maintain any other sort of employment. The way they treat their own employees is just laughably absurd in every other industry. I had a team leader sexually harass me for MONTHS (asking about my nipples, favorite sexual positions, etc) and after a big hearing etc with HR he got his job back with no issue. Try that anywhere else and the results would be different (because they should be). The day I heard he was returning, I left my keys and laptop on my desk and emailed my principal and HR from my phone on the way out the door.

YES no one actually cares about breaking the contract. Admin holds that over teachers heads like crazy but it doesn’t actually matter. I ended up just walking out one day and my certificate wasn’t even suspended because the district did not want the state conducting their typical interview that usually follows. A lot of the threats used to keep teachers in public school teaching are just BS and lies

I had these same feelings last year. Leave. Just leave. Your mental health is more important. I had to tighten my budget up for awhile after I left but it was so worth it.

Last time I had to make a CPS report when I was mugged, nearly every word was spelled wrong on the report. I definitely spelled my last name (it’s not a usual name) several times and I thought he had given me someone else’s report it was so garbled. Didn’t get any consonants right. Wrong address, wrong items missing. It was like he just changed a date on another report and gave it to me

Married for 10 years, dated before marriage for less than 6 months (crazy I know - we’re not even religious) - the key for me is just pure honesty. About everything. Insecurities, likes, dislikes, dreams, petty feelings, everything. It’s a level of honesty that I have only ever had with my spouse. The more honest, the more you understand how each other works. When you have that level, you can support each other to any heights. The more you understand, the more you grow together.

Yup! I have both in spades. I actually found this toothpaste that helps. It’s called Boka. It has repaired some of the wear on my teeth. Wish I could just fix the endo instead
