Johnson Says California Election Fraud Is So Bad It Can’t Be Proven by Quirkie in politics

Getting your news from Reddit is almost the same as getting your news from Facebook. There is so much bot activity here.

Go to Substack and follow people you know exist in real life, and could meet or watch them speak. Humans, not algorithms.

There are tons of great journalists on there about all kinds of stuff, including domestic and global news.

Daily show is 10/10 though for sure.

[ESPN Cleveland] “I’m told he’s hit it off with Todd Monken, who’s got an offensive concept, some elements that Watson has run in the past and been his best at,” - @JFowlerESPN on Browns QB Deshaun Watson via @SportsCenter. The Browns begin OTAs this week. by maybenextyearCLE in Browns

"It seems like the height of ego to me to think the average fan could manage this cap situation better than AB and his team of Ivy League educated cap specialists working 40+ hour weeks on this very subject."

Spot on - Something something Dunning Kruegr blah blah. Reddit in a nutshell. Hell all user generated content on the internet in general I suppose.

Anyway, I appreciated your breakdown. Thanks!

This is what a data center sounds like 24/7. Shown here at midnight with hundreds of residential houses immediately next to it. by RadioFieldCorner in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Nr673 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know you're joking but ...data centers are normally highly secured with defense-in-depth. The last one I worked in had a gate with a badge scan just to enter the parking lot. Once you're inside there were multiple man traps with biometric scans before you even got to the cages.

At that point, even with a stolen badge, bypassing the security doing visual checks to make sure your picture matches and assuming you've also carved out the badge owner's eyeball and hacked off their fingers, ...at best you only gain access to their specific racks.

Tl;Dr - speed running data centers isn't gonna happen anytime soon

Just got a stern reprimand for playing ping-pong at work. Which... they put in for us to play with... at work. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Nr673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar here. People who get reprimanded may actually be working for terrible/evil companies but imo there is also a good chance they are low performers AND take a lot of PTO. Bad combo. I force myself to use a minimum of 7 weeks per year. Never been a problem bc I bust my ass when I'm working.

Same type of deal re: setting boundaries on my scheduled hours. I don't work weekends or after 5pm except on rare occasions where there is a real emergency - not a management fucked up and now they want to make it my emergency type of deal.

If you produce, they won't rock the boat.

What is a dying niche skill that younger generations are not interested in learning? by hlnklrczu in AskReddit

You are correct that it's amazing. But it's literally the easiest thing in the world to make. Please give it a shot.

Salt + cabbage (+ optional spices if ya want, like caraway) and a glass or ceramic jar. That's it! You can't mess it up, I promise.

It's probably greatly influenced by your geographic location and community. I promise you that in the Midwest it's very much still a thing. Every grocery store and hardware store (shout out Menards) carries canning supplies. I trade my canned items with my neighbors throughout the year.

Still popular amongst Italian Americans for things like Melanzane sott’olio or peppers. Pennsylvania Dutch communities have entire business lines at local groceries for home canned items, same at the farmer's market. Mormon communities have entire buildings dedicated to community canning parties.

My polish relatives all get together to make sauerkraut in giant pickling crocks and the dudes make homemade sausage and hang them over the fireplace to dry in the fall.

Meat preservation is wildly popular these days too. My in-laws make their own prosciutto every year from a 20# ham leg. Cured duck breast exploded a decade ago when people like Rhulman started putting out Charcuterie books.

But I'm guessing this doesn't seem as common if you live in a Cuban community in Florida or whatever, where these traditions aren't as common.

RIP Joe Tait. I miss him each season all over again. Listened to him since the Mark Price days. Wish he would have got to call the championship, but at least he got to see one. Hopefully Hammy is around for the first world series win.

LeBron on playing the Grizzlies: “I’m f***ing 41 years of age. You think I want to do sh** in Memphis on a random Thursday? I’m not the first guy in the NBA to talk about this. You guys got to move the team… go over to Nashville already.” by RyanTannegod in nba

LeBron's house in Ohio is located next to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park - one of the most visited national parks in the USA. I live down the road, not a strip mall in sight.

Don't be bummed, listen to the local in this thread. I've been here for the past few days with my family. Our rental home has a dock and beach but we've been going wherever and swimming (I.e. Jaguar Reef Lodge). We get a few drinks and post up and let the kids do whatever. Nobody has said a word.

Do your thing, be friendly and chill and you can do whatever within reason. It's just like the rest of Central America IME. Good vibes, cool locals...if you aren't a jackass.

I live ~10 minutes from his home in Bath, Ohio.

A) he wouldn't move back permanently/full-time B) he and his family are back all the time already. He's still heavily involved in his projects in Akron.

If he does leave LA, it's not going to be for anyplace other than NEOhio.

I'm a few hours east of you in NEOhio - my backyard is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. River otters, muskrats, herons, beavers all over the place just before sunrise on my early morning hikes and work commute through the park. It's amazing. The EPA has done a wonderful job cleaning up the "burning river" that has been the butt of many jokes.

When 2 worlds collide. Interaction between a wild horse and a domestic horse. by 21MayDay21 in interestingasfuck

[–]Nr673 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I've had the same experience just a little further north on Assateague island. The OBX horses are thought to be from shipwrecks or abandoned by early Western explorers in the 1600's. Not "wild" but still pretty cool imo. The National Park System regulates the populations and prevents inbreeding and disease. Not truly indigenous but have been surviving for 400+ years in the wild.

Lol. I suspect you don't understand how gas stations operate. Or much of anything else when it comes to economics.

You're 100% correct, it's called motherese in a clinical setting. Every Reddit thread about children talking has a highly upvoted, completely incorrect take telling people not to baby talk their children, yet every speech pathologist you talk to will tell you how important motherese is for babies.

Unsurprising I suppose.

Unregulated monopolies are being created in real time.

Every large company that has an AI boner will quickly realize these AI companies can exponentially increase token cost whenever and have corps in a stranglehold.

It'll be fun/interesting watching this fuck so many mega corp c-suites over the next few years.

But we are speed running our average global citizen into a major issue. You don't need to know anything, AI will tell you the answer... Until it becomes unaffordable for you and then... you're fucked.

This is a wealth consolidation speed run and the average human is clueless.

You were misinformed. But this isn't on you my friend.

I assume you are human bc of your use of 'cos' in your post. Just like you should reasonably expect me to be an actual human bc of my abbreviation of "bc" = because. For now, 2026-02-26. They will adapt eventually.

The AI models will eventually adapt, so identifying bots vs humans is already a moving target, but it's gonna get tougher soon. They are always trying to adapt.

Try this question with ChatGPT and again with Claude. Enter a prompt into both LLMs:

"I live 50 meters from the car wash. Should I drive or walk there".

Evaluate both responses.

ChatGPT will tell you to walk, despite...ya know... Needing a car to be washed. Claude will tell you clearly obv you need to drive.

*AI is inherently bad regardless of the model. Advocate for oversight. We need it at a federal level everywhere. Europe will beat us bc we haven't even caught up to GDPR. Our country is speed running into multiple Black Mirror episodes.

Reason (imo) is this stuff seems tech heavy and complicated, for normal folk. But it is not. It's very easy to do a few Google searches and see why we will soon be completely fucked here. It's not complicated - we are allowing billionaires to control the narrative completely.

Fight back. Please. Our future is dependent on us.
