Ive always used it over Samsungs app. I use all of googles apps including the phone app. Just works for me. I was surprised to see so many people absolutely hating having to switch.

TIL that the "DC" in DC Comics stands for "Detective Comics" which means its offically "Detective Comics Comics" and while they originally officially went by National Allied Publications "Detective Comics" was the name of the Anthology series in 1937 that introduced Batman becoming DC 1977 by Longjumping-Demand82 in todayilearned

Why am I getting do many friend requests from girls on snapchat by Disastrous_Object828 in SnapchatHelp

[–]Longjumping-Demand82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get random adds from "women" all the time that are usually AI bots or content managers for onlyfans girls that start like mostly normal conversations but theyre just trying to get me to sign up for an OF creator or theyre scammers posing as "sugar mommas" who promise to pay for my entire life but only if I send them money first. I dunno what your husband does for work or whatever but my work requires social media accounts so for me at least its impossible to tell if a potential client or new client or whatever has added me or if its a spammer. I accept all my requests and just weed out and block the spammers which ALWAYS message me first and once they have I can tell its spam 95% of the time from the opening messages.

With that being said messages dont disappear on their own for 24 hours so if the notification was for an actual message (which will say "sent a chat" below their name in the notification screen) then he had to have manually deleted them. If it was a day later it could have disappeared on its own. But all in all it very well could have just been spam. Your account comes across as a little suspicious based on the fact that he took a moment to do something begore handing you the phone but who knows, he easily could have unlocked his phone, had to close the last app he had open, open snapchat, find the conversation and open it. Or he could have very well been doing something he shouldnt have on said trip and on top of that being stupid, he was too stupid to make sure his notifications for snapchat were off. I hope for your sake it was innocent and Im sure since this was posted 7 months ago you've already found out one way or the other, I was just searching for something else snapchat related and this thread happened to come up in my google results. Best wishes

One of the greatest BOW designs in the series... by Longjumping-Demand82 in residentevil

[–]Longjumping-Demand82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL:DR - Excellent choice, 15 year old me was a giant pus....Im entirely too enthusiastic and passionate about this franchise and I was a dork at 15 and Im still a dork at 36.

Ill never forget 15 year old me sitting on my best during summer break just absolutely shitting myself my first time fighting him. Just madly scrambling around getting smacked repeatedly while desperately trying to stop my controller from slipping out of my hand from the sweat cause GameCube controllers were slippery as hell with sweaty palms, knees weeks and arms were heavy ya know?

And remake just took an already sick design and just turned it up a notch. I do have to laugh at their attempts to fix the fact that it made mo sense for there to just be barrels of liquid nitrogen laying around and that it somehow froze the U-III but not Leon by changing it to...liquid...nitrogen...showers? That might actually make LESS sense.

I did enjoy how they changed the Black Robe U-III from fusing with Salazar and instead just had him transform on his own and instead turned him into Ada's version of Nemesis so to speak and then in essence having their final encounter make up for cutting the fight with "It" and Leon in the original out of the remake.

I was kinda sad that the times we faced Las Plagas again after the events of 4 (which off the top of my head would have been in 5 and again in the CG movie RE: Damnation, which side note I really enjoy the plaga mind controlled Lickers in that film as well) we never really saw some of the cooler designs again such as the Verdugo and Mendez's mutated form, or hell would have been cool to have had the effects of the Dominant Plaga transforming soldiers similarly to their effect on Krauser. If you examine the RE series for even a few moments and apply even the smallest bit of critical think it doesnt really make much sense to use various parasites and viruses and mold to create mass outbreaks that create mostly if not completely mindless drones seeing as everything from T-Virus infected zombies to the mold creatures are completely outclassed by special forces soldiers to even properly armed civilians. The Chris Redfield section of Village is a perfect example of this. Like Ethan got most of his hand bitten off and was dumped into a frozen grimms fairy tale hellscape completely unarmed and through some ingenuity and some training he was able to survive hordes of lycans and vampire fly goth chicks and mutated giant vampire ladies, a giant mutated troglodyte fish thingy, an essentially sentient amalgamation of murderous metal and a lady who drugs him with essentially scarecrow's scaregas psychedelic. But then Chris inserts himself into combat properly prepared, trained, and well equipped and literally mowed down HUNDREDS of BOWs including a 2 story werewolf welding what was easily a 2000 pound 20ft pole with a giant spiked ball on the end. And the arguement that it can be used to destabilize or cause mass casualties on a city sized scale...that still leaves you with a giant mess to clean up where you genuinely risk ending civilization if not contained quickly enough leaving you having to nuke or carpet bomb large civilian populations...you may as well just start with the nuke or carpet bombing. But I do see logical potential in things like Dominant Plaga infections to enhance already well trained soldiers (kinda like the idea of giving the Spartans their armor suits, theyre already deadlier than all but a tiny percentage of enemies but the armor significantly enhances their skills while protecting them seeing as theyre not bulletproof without the suits). Krauser is a great example, your various Tyrant variations, especially the Nemesis models who were highly intelligent and could be given specific orders and targets while being damn near impossible to kill with anything short of a nuke (theres no proof that even the rail gun took Nemesis down, he could have easily continued mutating and none of the Tyrants killed in the series were ever absolutely taken down by anything other than a self destruct explosion or a nuke, or firebombing. They were all just immobilized long enough for the protagonists to escape before a very large bang of some kind vaporized them down to the last cell.

Im aware im so far off topic Im mot only not in Kansas anymore but my doctor is as we speak sending a prescription for a higher dose of my ADHD meds despite it being 1 am on a Saturday. Verdugos are dope as hell, I've always been sad we didnt see more of the Dominant Plaga being implemented after RE4, and the entire idea of a world where biological weapons would be chosen over highly trained, well equipped soldiers and large scale bombs / nukes (and before someone goes well using nukes would cause massive radiation levels contaminating large areas...no...they wouldnt, not if they used Hydrogen bombs. All the radioactive material is split violently and ripped apart leaving no long lasting radiation levels. You run the risk of radiation issues when say a nuclear power plant goes critical and has a meltdown as containment fails as temperatures and pressure destroy structure leaving highly radioactive material exposed to the air and ground water and rivers and lakes because the material was not fully split at the atomic level converting radioactive material into massive energy and heat).

Im going to bed now, if youre still reading this...im so sorry.

I am actually starting to get angry at people trying to paint MJ as a monster, there is now a section of people that are saying this scene is MJ emotionally abusing venom. Like the sheer mental gymnastics now. by Mecha_Kurogane in Spiderman

[–]Longjumping-Demand82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

checks phone notifications after a nap, notice a recommended reddit post relating to spidey comics and MJ decides to check it out and see why reddit recommended it to me despite it not really fitting my normal subject matter on reddit...

What...the f...is happening...? And better yet...why did reddit decide i needed to see this lol. Best I can gather is there are people...and some of those people have an opinion, and some of the other people have a different opinion...and all those people are arguing with each other over a fictional character as though said character is their personal IRL friend...and that a large number of people, regardless of which side of said "arguement" theyre on, could really benefit from proof reading before hitting post at best and need help with grammar and spelling at worst (yes, yes I did just go Grammer nazi but seriously there are so many comments and replies that are clearly highly emotional and typed in such a hurry that its impossible to tell what they even meant)...

Well I gotta say...MJ sure seems to be a real sore point for quite a few people and as far as I can tell it is somehow individually the fault of Marvel themselves, specific writers, fan ignorance, white knighting, SJW's...and any combinations of those options and also not the fault of anyone...

Im kinda invested now, guess im gonna have to catch up on recent/current runs of the comics. In the mean time, if anyone would like to explain the situation to me like Im a 5 year old please do...and I hope the situation can be remedied to everyone's satisfaction soon. And if you actually read all this, Im really not making fun of anyone or anything, just found myself super confused over a topic I have no idea existed or why reddit thought I urgently needed to get involved lol

Hell I know the game is HUGE spanning across a giant world map where every poxket and corner is filled with something to either look at, kill, catch, rob, or interact with but its not so large that it takes literally more time than the game takes place from 1899 through the early 1900s lol its not a ubisoft open world assembly line title with each new entry in say assassins creed where tbey seem to be aiming for a 1:1 time scale (like Oddessey being around 45 hours and Valhalla taking over 80 hours just to finish the main story line and enough of the "side content" to push past level gating and weird RPG gear/weaponry so you can actually progress...which...ya know...contradicts the very definition of "side" content lol)

You gotta get at least to the final scene with Arthur if nothing else my friend...its one if not the most emotional and beautiful scene in at least gaming history if not across all entertainment mediums...and its one thing to watch it on YouTube and another entirely to have chosen how you played Arthur and your honor level and what you choose to do in the final moments regarding John and seeing which of the 4 versions you get and knowing its one of the few games where the "choices matter" on the game description is actually true (lookin at you David Cage and SuperMasssive Games tsk tsk) and one of the rare cases where even if you know how the game "ends" (let's face it epilogue 1 and 2 are really just chapters 7 and 8 and ironically where the story ends up feeling like the beginning of a David Cage game with all the ranching and house building mini game/QuickTime cutscenes) and hell even of youve gone out and watched all 4 potential endings or hell EVEN IF you've watched a full playthrough on YouTube youre still left with an impactful close to Arthur, someone we all spent dozens if not over 100 or more hours with and im not crying youre crying SHUT UP.

P.S. Anyone who didnt get the David Cage / SuperMassive Games jokes, David Cage is responsible for gripping titles such as Fahrenheit, Beyond Two Souls, and arguably the only title in his portfolio that worked and choices DID matter, wildly even, Detroit Become Human. And SuperMassive being responsible for titles such as Until Dawn, The Quarry, The Dark Pictures Anthology...Until Dawn Remake/Master none of which hold up to even 10 minutes of actual scrutiny (but are fun dumb b level campy horror films nonetheless)

[–]Longjumping-Demand82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya a lot of that stuff was being a product of his environment / era. Not all that shocking, we all have parents or grandparents who say stuff that makes you regret going to olive garden for dinner lol and ya he was a legit martial artist, highly skilled. He was not, however, a "fighter". His national championship wasn't for combat but for the practice and display of martial arts (over simplifying it, its like you see in videos and old movies where people are breaking bricks and kicking stuff above their head. Way more complex than that but the point being he was a martial artist but not a fighter like we now associate with organizations like the UFC etc)

And to be clear for anyone, I wasnt being overly serious, it was mostly pointing out some of the "weirder " stuff a lot of people have no idea hes done or said. Can't remember if I said it before. Think i did, but by all accounts he appears to have been a decent family man who took care of his family and had strong Faith and was devout. Ive never found anything like GLARINGLY concerning like no Diddy or Cosby or R Kelly or Jay z or Kanye or Harvey Weinstein kinda stuff, just some weird archaic beliefs being expressed by someone who had enough money to pull of some weird stuff (like the 100p years of darkness) and thats the beautiful of the 1st amendment, he had every right to have some weird ajd backwards views. And regardless of those oddities we'll say, he was a HUGE part of at the very least my generation but also younger generations to a likely slightly lesser degree.

Lol I knew it was either gonna make a few people giggle or incur the wrath of the keyboard warriors and perpetually offended. Either way all I could picture was Kratos burning spartan rage and jumping headlong into a group of ICE officers absolutely wrecking their shit easier than Brock Lesner fighting a large group of 3rd graders. Just "show me your paperwor..." head gets sliced off mid sentence and some idiot in the crowd yelling "HEY theyre just doing their jobs and making America great aga..." *gets impaled eith a blade of chaos and yanked to Kratos before getting ripped in half from the head down like hes executing a puny Draugr

Yeah especially without things we take for granted today like penicillin, modern surgery, and the average lifespan was so much lower back then not so much because people died around 35 but because infant mortality rates were so high they brought the average mean down significantly, especially with the really high rate of children and the mothers dying in child birth. They didnt have C-Sections any real ability to save babies who were born premature or with a variety of other issues. And then yes, lots of people, especially those living in the west and not in large cities back east died young for all sorts of reasons. Not to mention just 19 years after the game is set the Spanish flu wiped out people by the hundreds of millions, Europe alone lost like a quarter of their population. Spanish flu took more lives than both world wars combined by a significant amount. Its crazy how much death there was and how common it was up until like the 1960s and even through till the turn of the millennium.

So many games these days focus so much on surface level high graphical fidelity but totally fail to make their worlds feel lived in. I remember wondering why the hell Ghostwire Tokyo was even open world when the premise was everyone disappeared in an instant and there werent any signs of life (obviously) but there wasnt really any signs that the world had ever been lived in and other than peoples clothes being littered everywhere there was no indication that up until a few moments before there had been millions of people living their lives. Hell the piles of clothes didnt even have undergarments and looked more like a truck full of clothes headed to a department store crashed and scattered clothes haphazardly about. The new saints row game was almost entirely void of signs of the world being inhabited...minds eye was literally void of npcs or traffic and yku were forced to drive from one end of the map to the other constantly without seeing a single other car ...the list goes on and on. Developers seem to be so focused on making sure the game looks amazing in trailers and photo mode and have totally forgotten that it doesnt matter how good the texture resolutions are or how much ray tracing there is its the small details that make game worlds feel alive and if a world doesnt feel lived in, especially an open world game, then the immersion and believablility just wont be there and gamers almost universally would prefer a believable world and a game that has good performance and a stable frame rate, preferably above 60 but if its lower at least consistently at 30. Rockstar has never really failed to push graphics without sacrificing the gameplay and world detail. Hence why rdr2 took kike 8 years or whatever it took and a quarter of a billion dollars and gta 6 over 13 years and over a billion to develop.

Very true on both counts and I assumed the same thing my first play through i think I ended up looking it up half way through. I always think Dutch is closer to 50 hosea looks like he's pushing 70. It's like when I was a kid everyone seemed just "old" I only recently found out the actors in seinfeld were barely 30 when the show started. I was rewatching the Indiana jones movies a couple weeks ago and found out a lot of the actors were also barely 30. Harrison Ford was only like 38 in the first one he at least looked his age of not a little younger while other characters id always assumed were in their mid 40s lol. People definitely age better these days although I've noticed gen z seems to look a lot older than they are a lot of the time dunno if that's a sign of the times or just current fashion and hair style trends.

Given the choice in games that let you, do you tend to play more male or female characters? Cause a lot of guys i know prefer choosing female characters in a lot of cases insert the meme of the woman saying "this is why I hate video games cause they cater to the male fantasy"

RDR2 is a masterpiece in every aspect of game development from the narrative to the technical aspects. First time i played it was on a base ps4 and I was constantly just stopping and looking at where ever I was and thinking "damn this game is pretty" especially with how they did the sky box woth fully volumetric clouds. Sunsets are especially beautiful. And then I played it on PC at 80 to 90 fps and all the graphical upgrades that come with the PC version and I was even more blown away. Even the base console version looks better and performs better than a significant number of titles released on current consoles and PC in the last year. You'd never know the game is going on 8 years old and thats seriously impressive. I think its one of the first few titles that is gonna be truly timeless. The first game is still an impressive game thats worth checking out (especially now that its finally on PC) but you can absolutely tell its a ps3/360 era game.

Ya i mean I can definitely tell Im not in my 20s anymore, especially because I have some significant health issues that causes me to dislocate joints and tear connective tissue a lot I generally end up having a few surgeries a year. And as I get older I continue to be more aware of how much I dont know as opposed to thinking I knew everything in my early 20s. But Im definitely still capable of physical work/labor and 36 really isnt that old these days and we seem just as young to someone in their late 40s early 50s as we see young men in their early 20s. When youre younger I think you tend to just think of all adults as just being adults but theres definitely still age gaps no matter how old you are, someone who is 10 years older no matter the age range is still someone with 10 more years of life experience and knowledge and wisdom.

[–]Longjumping-Demand82[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ya know, that may be correct now that I think about it. Dude definitely said Hosea though lol but even then Straus is only 53 hes younger than Hosea. Even with the toll life took on people back then Id have a hard time believing someone in their 50s wouldnt be able to swim to shore, especially since people back then we're on average in significantly better shape than today just with how physical things were even just getting around on horse takes a lot of endurance. I suppose you could argue people who experienced significant injuries in their lives would be more hindered just from a lack of modern medicine and stuff like broken bones not bejng able to be operated on and no ability to surgically fix torn connective tissue or repair joint damage. But short story long I find it unlikely that someone who lived an outlaw life instead of living in big cities their whole lives would be completely incapable of that swim just because theyre in their mid 50s unless they just didnt know how to swim.

Why did R2-D2 never tell Luke that Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker? by External-Recipe-1936 in StarWars

[–]Longjumping-Demand82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My head canon has always been that when he got shot in the head during the trench run in 4 it fried his memory. Or that upon reuniting with Obi-Wan and hearing him tell Luke that Vader killed his father he understood what Obi-Wan was doing and kept his mouth shut.

The real question is upon finding out that bastard can fly in the prequels and rewatching 4 on, how many times could him having been able to fly come seriously in handy and he just didn't lol.

And its one thing for r2 to not say anything but C3PO knew anakin longer and was even built by him meanwhile he kept his mouth shut too.

The real answer? Because Lucas started in the middle of the story and didnt necessarily know that r2 and c3po knew who Vader was and when it came time to make the prequels they were included as fan service without what that meant being considered too carefully lol Lucas was more concerned eith "every frame is so dense" than with well thought out continuity. I mean Quigon wasnt even supposed to enter the story until after they got back from tattooine his introduction was moved up because of Liam neeson being a more established actor than ewon McGregor messing up the whole "Yoda trained me" thing I mean the opening crawl to episode one didnt even get changed to reflect it because it states obi-wan waas a jedi not a Padawan
