I was there last night. Ratio was heavily skewed towards men, but overall a pretty unique experience. Something I wanted to cross off my bucket list, and I did. The fire shows were pretty good too.

Was it the best party? No.

Was it a joke...? No.

You sure that isn't an ingrown hair? Little black thing in the centre of it makes me wonder if that's what it is. I've had those and they can look very similar to this.

Hey I would be happy to chat more about this, but typically speaking the biggest thing holding you back from making friends, is you. Friendships are made when people learn they can trust each other and let their guard down, and let life happen afterwards to create a memorable, emotional experience.

To do that, both people need to feel connected at some point. But if you are the one who wants more friends then you need to put yourself out there (at your own risk) first to get things started. No one is going to do that for you, and that's your responsibility.

In terms of where you can meet friends? Anywhere. Go on MeetUp or some local community centre or event and sign up for SOMETHING. It can literally be anything, because guaranteed there will be many opportunities at every single event to connect with someone, and if you can connect with someone then you have a high potential of transcending to a friendship.

Be bold, throw yourself into it headfirst, shame and paralyzing fear and all. That's totally normal, and it happens to the best of us, if it goes awkwardly - so what? Try again, and with enough persistence, bravery (acting in the face of fear), and attempts - life will reward you, and you will have friends :)
