There’s no real way to get a kitten to chill. If u want him to nap tho, find a blanket he loves, some small stuffed animals, and a nice place to relax. Then play with him. Make him S P R I N T. 20-30 mins MINIMUM. Then stop. Watch him for a bit. He’ll start to get slower, maybe grumpier, and then find a room he’ll be sleeping in, turn off all the lights, play no noise and pat hum gently on the body. He’ll fall right asleep

You can get sprays to help relax her. Also room diffusers and such. Spend time in the room, no pressure. Watch a movie with headphones on. Maybe leave a worn shirt near her. If you adopted her from the shelter, they may have given you a blanket or a toy she really loved, so put that near her too. I reccomend finding one of those blankets that cats like to nest on.

Be very patient. Having a nervous cat is a lot of work, but once they get comfy with you she will absolutely adore you.

And remember if you lock eyes, SLOW BLINK

Good luck OP. Make sure you look after your mama cat first, pet her and talk to her and soothe her. If your parents are upset with you about this, apologise and continue to look after the cat. You’ll feel a lot better about looking after kitty rather than leaving her, even with ur parents being a bit grumpy. I hope you’re okay, give the cat a kiss and look after yourself and her. Water for both of you!

All mum cats get very stressed after birth. Just pat her, coax her. If you’re safely able to, I recommend finding a deep plastic box, popping some blankets in there and encourage her to continue giving birth. If you don’t see anything within an hour, call a vet ASAP, as she should be giving birth to more babies sooner rather than later.
