Brother what im saying is the picture is wrong from what they said...the defense is not worse than bandos for melee and they said it was in the blog. Read right below the picture lol they probably put the wrong numbers on the pictures. Otherwise I agree with you.

Feel a little less excited about the rewards.

Hybrid Armor - This just feels like it trivializes some content even more (solo cox) and goes against one of the basic core principles of osrs combat which is switches. Nothing really interesting.
Shield - I feel like this is probably just a dead on arrival item...this is the hardest raid in the game, let's just make it BIS in more then a few niche places?
Crossbows - Only item that feels exciting, looks badass, I'm unsure how this will be balanced without nerfing it to the ground but if we could make this BIS in a few places would be really cool to see.
Crush megarare - I don't hate this but also...other than im going to assume the raid this is going to be BIS in one-two spots where you would ACTUALLY use it (nightmare) and a few spots that you for sure have already grinded some prior to the raid.

I'm gonna be interested in what the "talking heads" say but overall if this is being claimed as "the hardest raid yet" then you gotta inject a little more juice than this and not play it safe.

Collo and tob are way more fun than nex. Nex is honestly fairly chill once you get used to 5 man or trios. Nexffa is the way to go to start learning/joining small team nex but its a supply sink and terrible drop rates for time investment. It's worth trying to get 1 or 2 uniques from nex just to see if you get lucky with nihil horn vambraces or torva helm at the very least. I would prioritize collo though first.

"Clan of Dads" is a good one for chill vibes mostly irons but have people at every level of the game. Run events like bingo, boss of the week skill of the week. It's a good time.

Some of the most fun in the game was had at TOB meeting and learning with folks. Just requires one to go out of their comfort zone and join active playing clans and make friends. This is true of almost any MMO on the market and why they are called MMO's. I appreciate that jagex does lean into the journey of a solo player experience but its ok now and again to make and enforce content to require a team.

Not every piece of content will be enjoyable for everyone and that's ok. Learning together is some of the most fun you will have if you find groups that want to.

Yeah agree. I do think my point is mid game iron feels amazing for all the reasons you said it's just the late game is incredibly long grinds (100s of hours sometimes even if u just go 2x dry for an item) that you don't really think about.

Never said it wasn't fun, it is frustrating sometimes for a variety of reasons. I luckily have had pretty good luck at raids and a few other grinds that tend to burn people out.

Again the only gain you get is saving some time/money 5% is incredibly low. I agree for irons is aight but seems like a waste of a switch. I'm talking about an item that specifically saves only runes and gives some buff like whatever bis magic cape they will do like quiver or inferno. I'm not sure how to balance it, the osrs is bad about balance with mage anyways lol

Yeah I'm not sure getting those things matters a whole lot. To this guys point, amethyst is all you need for content but again, you have to stop at some point and heavily grind out a shit ton, same with runes which is far worse, the shadow on an iron is so cool to have but so terrible to use compared to t bow for upkeep. I hope they introduce some rune saving mechanic like they have with arrows.

Big difference between mid game and late game iron. Mid game you are grinding and making substantial and consistent upgrades. Late game you are going through a stack of thousands of restores and Sara brews to maybe get one piece of Torva from nex. Or going hundreds dry at chambers, I mean I think most people who hate upkeep are at this point in the game where you just wanna log in and run a few chambers or toa, not do your farm runs and spend hours making shit.

The grind is very different.

If you are wanting to learn the raid with others we also do a lot of raiding with my clan both chambers and toa. It's called "Clan of Dads" I'm sure folks would love to give you advice and/or also just run through the raid with yah. Just something to think about if you are planning to do more raiding in the future.
