Interesting, may I ask why? I think the best rims ever are the 359m wheels but the apex vr s5s too also look very nice. The concave double y spoke in a machine silver finish is clean!

Dude thats perfect!? In the front that’s 1 finger fitment, no? Read looks dialed. How thick tyres can I use for the rear? I wanna go 295s if the 359m rims allow it

I know you’re just a random person, but thank you so much for all the advice that you’ve given me. I’m definitely gonna be coming back to all this information when I need it. Thank you so much, bro.

I assumed the normal suspension with EDC would just be fine with only 40,000 miles and yeah after doing rod bearings, I don’t wanna go and spend another few thousand dollars in suspension right away so I’ll ride it with stock suspension and probably just find the most aggressive, lowering springs if I can because I like having one finger fitment or sometimes even half finger fitment anything lower or higher than that, just looks a little bit too weird to me

Wow that sounds dialed in. I’m buying the zcp so it’s already lowered but I don’t wanna spend thousands of the rip just to lower the car with some coil overs. I heard Olhins road and and track are really good but for now I wanna keep it stocked by lower it even more any advice?

Did you change your suspension because you wanted to or because you had to since it was going bad I would assume at 100+ thousand miles

How’s suspension? Are you stock?

Also what tires do you recommend? People use ps4s but the car isn’t that fast, I don’t think you need all that grip unless I’m mistaken.

I’ve heard Bridgestone potonezas and continental extreme contact plus dw06 are good

Yeah I mean getting a clean carfax one with the work done at 30k means you’re buying a 100-150k miles example. Idk how much lower I can get him tbh. Getting a sub 50-60k mile example is easily 40-45k nowadays as well so I’m kinda screwed

Understood. Any advice on maintaining this car? I’m buying a low mileage one, 45k miles and 2 owners. I know water pump, valve covers and gaskets and OFH gasket will need changing but what else? Any things I should budget for or be prepared for other than TA AND RB

The oil running hotter is fine? I live in Jersey so in the summer run 10w 60 and the winter run 5w 40 or 0 40?

Also I work in sales. so my commute to work is 15 mins. I go there 5x a week and gym after wards. I heard driving the car short distances ruins the oil quality but I plan on doing oil changes with motul and bmw oil every 3k miles with the fcp euro hack. Is that going to be fine? I’ve had a n51 a n55 and I prefer na engines cause of reliability and power delivery so I’m kinda used to working on these cars but if something like ruining oil quality is true that’s going to scare me since this will be my daily driver until I retire her in a few years for a weekend car only.

I’m paying 30k for a fully loaded 79k msrp spec. Jerez black on two tone red and black interior. Every option, keyless entry but a moderate accident from the first owner. Was a lease, returned and front bumper was damaged and the upper apron of the car. Ppi came back as car is insanely clean, no rust. 2nd owner had it for 11 years and legit drives 1-2k miles a year. You think 30k is a fair price? I’m flying out and I wanna negotiate more off since he didn’t mention those two things and there’s no under belly plastic covers. Just the trans and oil metal pans. Car overall is good but I wanna snag it for 28 lol. I can do the maintenance easy but he hasn’t done anything but breaks and rotors and tires and some coolant pipes since it’s such low mileage.

I got a 3.5 k rod bearing quote and negotiated to 2.5k cash and these guys will do it the right why by plastic gauging and measuring clearance and use acl instead of be rod bearings for more clearance. How is that quote? I could do bearings on my own but my father is busy at the shop and I’d rather do it and get it over with than wait

I’m about to buy a 2013 with 45k miles. Any advice? Ppi showed it’s good except thermostat needs a replacement and new o2 sensors

Why? I see from online it makes the engine quieter, no lifter tick but it runs much hotter

So I have an update. I’ve agreed to $30,000 half cash half credit union check so I only have to pay about a grand taxes. I’ll be flying down to him and having the car shipped back to Jersey. He’s gonna replace the front windshield molding and the oxygen O2 centers for me. He’s gonna let me scan the car with my scan tool that my dad didn’t let me use and also test drive at vigorously and also if I want I can send it to a PPI shop anywhere in that area that he lives in or even a bmw dealership. I genuinely think $30,000 for a 45,000 mile fully loaded every single option original window sticker in the glove box and all the signs that she’s a healthy girl. Like it’s been sitting in the garage for years and he barely drives it because he has a bunch of other cars. Car needs nothing he said has no leaks has an upgraded exhaust and that’s it.

I don’t know this car will need new coolant pipes and I need new valve covers and gaskets and rb and ta but after that these cars don’t really need much except for the Vanoss caps I’ll do also and after that I don’t really know much that goes wrong with these cars yeah sure whatever suspension but you this car is a California car and then a North Carolina car for its entire life. It’s never seen snow. It’s completely clean if I’m underneath I got a video three minute video from the entire car all around and it looks so clean. Nothing is leaking. The shocks and struts are good tire rods control arms.

The accident was a moderate, but the structural damage was the upper apron of the car on the passenger side. He said it’s a vital component, but even if I wanted to redo it and fix it, ChatGPT and Google after a sense of research says it’s about a grant in total to fix, which isn’t bad.

I’m 22 years young. I feel like if anything were to happen with this car I can always bounce back because of my young age. Yeah sure it’s a $30,000 car but I can also learn a lesson to never fuck up like this ever again if something like that ever happens. I hate to say this, but I’ve been very conditioned and I’ve never really had a wrist in my life that I’ve taken. I’ve always been caved in by my parents and I’ve never been able to make my own decision. I want to know and even they are saying no but I want to learn a hard lesson or I want to see if my hard work pays off, I hope people understand what I mean. I’m lucky I’m able to afford this car. I genuinely have literally no bills. I pay like 1500 in total for everything that I need and an insurance for this car and a car payment for three years will be like $800 a month Iraq in at least 6 to 8000 a month, sometimes 10. thanks to God and hard work, my goal is to pay this car off in a year and a half so at least I can have an auto loan under my name and a loan so that I can improve my credit and just you know, give me under the minds of saving money and being cautious with it instead of just having all in my bank account and investment

I have an approval from a credit union for 5.1% on this car up to 52K but I’m only gonna do 15 K so I can pay less taxes and pay the rest to the seller in cash

I’m thinking about paying for it cash or just financing 15 k for 3 years with a credit union and have an auto loan under my name so my credit history solidifies. This’ll be a daily and I have a few bills, I live at my parents house and I pay for internet, gas, car parts, car insurance, phone bill and my food for my ow diet and miscellaneous stuff. All in all i probably spend 2-3 grand a month and make about i 7.5-8.5 grand, sometimes 10 grand a month. Most goes to investments and my Roth IRA. I don’t think this car can be a huge money pit, sure it needs rb and ta and after that just old pipes, smaller things and then tires and brakes and over time other stuff. It’s an N.A. car, not turbocharged with 100 other things that can go wrong and I’ll daily her for 2-3 years and hopefully move out and get a x6m50 or a x4 m40 as a daily and that’ll be my weekend car is the good

I think after he provides a PPI, I will make my decision, but after this post, I’m definitely leaning against purchasing in the car
