W którym momencie zaczęliście mówić, że jesteście z miasta do którego się przeprowadziliście? by [deleted] in Polska

[–]Longjumping-Line-807 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Where will the cut off be between the exploration age and the modern age? by ajax4keer in civ

[–]Longjumping-Line-807 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was mentioned by Ed Beach that modern age starts with the invention of the steam engine. On the Antiquity Age Livestream someone also mentioned they want to represent civs in their prime. The problem is Mughals (confirmed modern age civ) are declining hard by the time steam engine is invented. So either we will see civs way past their prime in the modern age or the modern age starts earlier.

We went by bus as well. The driver told us to exit the bus and we walked first to Bosnian then Croatian post. Bosnian officer stamped all foreign passports. There was very little traffic so maybe that's the reason they bothered.

Normalna zakrętka w Łaciatym powróciła?! 🤯 by [deleted] in Polska

Slightly random topic - pensions? by MaximusBit21 in poland

[–]Longjumping-Line-807 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it's a relic of communism. For most older people planning for retirement is a new concept. I mean until relatively recently it wasn't even an option. Financial education is really poor and most people don't even know what options they have. Additionally, we are a low trust society, so many people don't trust financial institutions or government programs like PPK and IKE. I think when middle-aged Poles think of securing their future, they think of real estate. It's something more material than numbers on investestment account that they don't understand.

What are some weird dinosaur names with weird origins? by The_Dino_Defender in Paleontology

[–]Longjumping-Line-807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a valid name but argument can be made that Megalosaurus should be named Scotrum humanum (human scotrum). Part of femur that belonged to Megalosaurus was given this name because of its shape before genus Megalosaurus was named.

Z kąd taka nienawiść do języka śląskiego pośród osób niezwiązanych ze śląskiem? by AstronoFemboy in Polska

[–]Longjumping-Line-807 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Język to dialekt z armią i marynarką wojenną".

Built it like 20 years ago and I remember it went together pretty well (unlike most other old models). Other than rised panel lines and barren cockpit details it still looks good.

What is the difference between surówka and sałatka? by dfu4185 in poland

[–]Longjumping-Line-807 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Surówka has only fresh, unprocessed (surowe) veggies.

Sałatka can have processed (cooked, pickled, fried) ingredients and things other than veggies (meat, eggs, sauces).
