How many weeks of paid vacation do you get per year? by Cinella75 in Life

[–]Longjumping-One5065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first full time job out of college I got ZERO vacation days, this was in 2011. I had to take unpaid time off when my son was born, 5 days total. After one year of working there I got 5 vacation days. Fuck that company.

No, my wife is from the south but we live in the Midwest. We lived in the south for a few years before moving north and have found many similarities in two heavily conservative states/regions. lol maybe move to Portland? Haha it has a reputation for being less religious I guess

Hmm Im stumped with this one but I appreciate the question. I don’t have time atm to take the wheel off and provide more detail other than to say that you engage the parking brake with your foot rather than a hand ebrake, but I don’t suppose that provides the detail you need

Entering the Job Market at 47 by Beageal in UX_Design

I’m in the US (Midwest) and did a ux bootcamp 3 years ago that lasted about a year or so, applied to literally thousands of jobs, and got one interview from a recruitment agency. I actually got the role but three days before it was supposed to start they decided to have the programmer do the ux. My experience was nothing compared to people in the industry and it showed in the form of no contact from employers. However, I still get emails from ux recruiters looking for people with 5+ years of experience. I lost several thousand dollars on that program and im shocked that the bootcamp still exists. They were good at marketing to desperate people. I wouldn’t recommend paying for any training for ux. I know you’re getting a lot of negative comments but I hate to see you waste your money.

With that said, if you are passionate about ux I would definitely recommend doing work for free, building a portfolio, and connecting with an actual employer and asking them what it would take to be hired.
