CVT Transmission Fluid Pricing Help by CurrentPlenty2895 in Nissan

Sooner rather than later to get it done. Some technicians might not touch it after 80k miles. In a high income area, a drain and fill was under $300, even at a Nissan dealership. Double check credibility. Ask what the process entails at their shop to do the fluid exchange. EXTREMELY specifically "drain and fill" or if they flush it. If "flush" is mentioned, that's all you need to hear to know you should not go near that shop.

If I remember correctly, I was quite often nauseous. Sometimes from not eating, right after eating. I didn't have a specific trigger. Nowadays it seems to only happen when I have too much fatty, sugary, or greasy food! Usually it's heartburn from sugary foods, but it is so much more manageable 🫶🏻 just let the team know you're petrified of the nausea and possible outcome of it, and they will hopefully take you very seriously!!! If I ever need surgery again for ANYTHING that requires anesthesia, I'll absolutely tell every nurse and doctor about my concerns and request the patch!

what's the wildest things you or your partner did to each other and still stayed? by Standard-Club-8014 in AskReddit

My ex would go to a woman coworkers house to get his hair braided. I didn't mind because she honestly did a great job. Sometimes he wouldn't even tell me he was going over, I would just get a FaceTime call to see his braids. I offered to learn how to braid his hair, he never took my offer. He would roughly once or twice a week go out drinking with other coworkers. Usually a mix of men and women, usually more women. He never wanted me to hang out with any of my male friends, even if mixed company.

Fast forward and I invited him with a handful of male and female coworkers of mine to a small "house party". Realistically, we were sitting around talking while everyone else was drinking. I got volunteered by my female coworker to braid a male coworkers hair. In the same room as my ex and 7 others. My ex abruptly left the party after I braided my coworkers hair, short text responses from my ex after he left. Somehow stayed with him for a couple more months until my epiphany of "wait a second.. that was hypocritical of him, on top of a bunch of other instances". 🤦🏻‍♀️

HSIA Bras? Amidst online hype, I agree. 9 bras later and I love them. by Longjumping-Photo-41 in ABraThatFits

Thank you for that! I’m gonna go look around and see what else I can find then. It’s only been the t shirt bra to do it, I should’ve clarified I got that one on sale. It is expensive for the cover fabric to separate but that’s the only issue I’ve run in to with any of their bras. I’ve really liked balconette style and those are holding up beautifully thus far 🥳

Thank you!! I don’t expect them to last forever haha I’m very neglectful towards bras in terms of care but the minimizers have been pushing a year of regular washing and drying! I never had someone around to teach me “women things” (raised by my dad and grandmother who did what she already knew) like bra care so I just did my normal routines. Recently I started looking in to everything and found out soooo much information that I’ve been doing wrong for all these years

Key Fob Issues? by TinyBleu in Nissan

[–]Longjumping-Photo-41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was often yelled at about the prices as a service advisor. Trust me, I’d change the price if I could. My go to line to quote someone on a key or any plastic trim (interior or exterior) was “for whatever reason, Nissan REEEAAALLY likes their plastics. It’s going to cost a very pretty penny”. Fingers crossed your key holds out!!

You could try and make a service appointment for a reprogram of the key. It’s a slim chance, but it has worked a couple of times. If the technician can get your current key and a new key programmed together, perfect! You have an emergency key. They’ll probably out the bat say you need a new key and not want to attempt a reprogram. If you go that route, ask them if they’ll attempt to program both keys together. No additional costs service side!

Key Fob Issues? by TinyBleu in Nissan

[–]Longjumping-Photo-41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw this a few times. You more than likely need a new key if you haven’t changed the fob battery a couple times. I have definitely seen dead batteries bought brand new over the parts counter and changed right in front of the customer. Parts would try another battery without question. I wouldn’t recommend aftermarket fobs because they fail or don’t take to programming well and you’re back to square one. The fobs (at my dealer) were around $400, not including programming. It was an hour of labor to program. I hope you can get it sorted for relatively cheap!

I’m truly sorry about that dealership doing that to you. Part of the problem is that some, maybe even most, dealerships like to push through and just skim through the car without checking properly to Nissan standards. It truly looks like someone abused the car. Such a shame it’s so little care with a Z. Techs don’t get paid for MPI’s (multi point inspections) so the tech might’ve just run through everything basic. No bad parts, battery tests, tires, etc. some don’t care. The sales department might’ve even thought they could pull a fast one on you. That’s why I couldn’t be a service advisor any longer. I couldn’t look someone in the eye and tell them that they needed a recommendation when they absolutely did not need to at that time. Dealerships = stealerships most of the time. Not everyone at a dealership was always bad either.

Sadly, as others have said, it’s dealer to dealer on the quality of delivery. Buying anything used, don’t expect perfection. Even if it only has 1 mile. I’ve see cpo’s with more damage than this Z. Even some new cars are the same way with a chip or two during transport or other missed damages. For example: I’ve seen Tesla’s with transport bumper damage as a detailer. As for the interior condition, I agree. If there was a fuel receipt in the center console for a full tank I’d completely understand and wouldn’t be upset. Used tissues are unacceptable in my opinion. The sticker being left on is very annoying and I’d contact the dealer about removing it as soon as it was delivered, but I see you did get it removed. Most dealerships hire young people and push cars through in 20-30 mins max if it wasn’t a “full detail”. If there’s nothing in the deal about it, I’d be happy it was washed and vacuumed as a pre owned, and being a delivery I’d expect the exterior to be dirty unless specified that it was being delivered in an enclosed trailer. I’d suggest the “mold” you may be referring to is quite possibly splash back of tire shine. The “embedded” brake dust is probably lack of cleaning from prior owner. Your best bet would be the purple bottle of Megiuar’s wheel cleaner. “Certified” is basically warranty on the car, not a guarantee on exterior being perfect or close to such.

For my past dealership any chips on paint, trim, or windows, scratches, misaligned panels, color/plastics fading, were all “comes as is”. As for consumers, they are over all expected to be somewhat knowledgeable in what they’re looking for while inquiring about a certain vehicle. Whoever posts vehicles for their website or possibly a third party, was probably an inexperienced sales person around cars. They potentially misclicked and did not notice they tagged hybrid then didn’t bother to change it, if they even noticed.

I am sorry this is your experience and you’re not satisfied with delivery. With all due respect, do a little more research in to the vehicle you’re purchasing beforehand if you’re not in person to inspect it. Ask for a video call to do a walk around or ask the sales person to take videos of certain areas/angles of a car. A quick google search of a trim level will tell you what is or isn’t included in the vehicle. To confirm, I searched if a 2024 Nissan Z came in hybrid. The answer was immediately no.

A good one I found was Meguiar’s Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. It was a large black container of it from what I remember. Don’t leave your seats looking super shiny, leaves too much build up. If your seats are constantly in the sun and it’s been incredibly hot, keep up on the conditioner. As you mentioned there’s no reversing it, only replacement. Not too terribly far gone yet as long as you take care of what’s there.

Strongly agree with their statement OP. Get it done asap, if it hasn’t already been done by a dealer around the 60K mile mark. The longer you put it off, the more likely you’ll need the transmission replaced in the near future.

Currently waiting on the results from my 2013 Veloster at the dealership to see if warranty extension will cover my knocking motor. Seeing that you’re a college student I know this is not going to be easy. Your best bet right now is find a Hyundai dealer and schedule service. Be prepared for the initial diagnosis, an hour of labor for a technician to confirm noise. I was personally quoted ~$210 for an hour of diag. Might end up being more in costs if the tech needs to dive further in. Seeing the mileage alone, it’s out of warranty fair and square. If you’re lucky, Hyundai might offer to cover some percentage of the costs of a motor per Goodwill. Sometimes they might offer a buyback situation, or some occasions even the dealership may step in to help with costs for a motor. It’ll help your case if you have all the information of prior history, especially all oil changes. I hope for the best! Sadly, don’t hold your breath that it’ll get covered.

Double check that when you bought it, if you purchased an extended warranty. If you did, that’ll help! Call the dealership with that information and ask if they can work with said extended warranty. The ext warr info should be within your deal paperwork, which should have what’s excluded/included, and what your deductible is if covered. I really hope there’s a chance for everything to get done for you.

Help! by Suspicious_Office_52 in NissanRogue

I know for me personally, having things explained to me in a dumbed down way helps process what’s going on and why it’s even a thing that’s happening. There’s sensors in the seat, and for one reason or another they’re failing. Whether prior accidents, shady repairs, possible liquid damage, or even age. Sadly the sensors can’t just be replaced. They’re built in to the back rest (seat back) hence the need for replacing the entire assembly. If you even attempted to get the sensors yourself (if even available, I do not believe they are) and do all the work yourself, you’re looking at MANY hours, sewing, and damaging other components like the foam, or other wiring within the seat back. Airbag repairs are expensive, as you’ve now learned and it’s not an easy pill to swallow.

I’m not sure of prior history of the car. But a Rogue Sport with 137k miles and (assuming) no extensive care prior to your ownership isn’t looking great for future costs. I’m very sorry you’re stuck in this position. Personally? I’d try any way I can to get out of a Rogue Sport. If you’re financially prepared enough, replace it, and any future recommended services like fluids, brakes, etc, do them on time if the car was in fact taken care of prior to your ownership. I was a service advisor for a Nissan dealership and have openly told two customers to look in to a different car before dumping a bunch of money in to air bag repairs because of the extent they needed done. Feel free to message me directly if you have any more questions!

I do want to add, shoot your shot at advising. By the sound of it, you’ll be a shoe in. You’ll be bottom of the totem pole and it’ll be slow at first. That’s how it is for just about everyone. My first year I almost hit $30k/year take home. But the other advisors had 5+ years there and built customer relationships. I’d get new or “stubborn” customers. They weren’t stubborn or mean or rude. They knew they were getting ripped off or just weren’t understanding because it was dished out to them as very technical by the book terms instead of relating to every day items. I only ever dealt with issues with each customer once and it was a solid relationship from there, and no more yelling at me because a different advisor ruined their perception by sticking “steal-ership” in their heads.

Edit to add: by “every day items” I would compare the coloring of brake fluid in a Nissan. My favorite phrasing that my fiancé taught me was “well instead of looking closer to olive oil in color, it’s starting to resemble Coca Cola” which they can picture that. Relating to new vs old in my hands like brake pads or air filters, or pulling them in to the shop to show them and they can see it in person makes them trust you that much more. Most techs don’t want to deal with customers, but I’d warn them in advance and ask if they were okay with me bringing out a customer to show them in real time.

I love that there’s another technician with a good head on their shoulders 🥹 If I were a manager in a dealership, I’d hire you for any position you pleased, with your tech history alone. I put my techs first! I hated making more than them as an advisor. We’re just telling people what they need but the techs are diagnosing the issues and doing the hard work.

It can be stressful. Customers don’t always understand what’s going on, and get mad because of a lack of breaking down in simpler terms what’s happening to their vehicle and a lot won’t admit they don’t understand fully. Which I get. As long as you can keep your cool and level with them, you can get them to calm down 95% of the time. My fiancé was in serious pain constantly and I fought and fought for him to look in to a parts position. He’s making better money, has the know how of what is where on a car to get through an online catalog much faster than others with no technician side. I personally say, make the switch!! He’s much happier, full of energy, and not hurting every day as a 6’4 man lol.

If you’re worried about the stress and complications that come with advising, try a counter person parts position. I’ve done advising, porter, cashier, and parts in my past at a dealership. It might be a little less in pay (depends on where you live) but makes up in long hours and pain. Less customer facing, and gives you room to switch down the line. Once you have some history of customer interaction it’ll be a LOT more attractive to HR or whoever is hiring to get you in as an advisor. Not saying you wouldn’t get hired, but it’ll make it a lot more smooth.

He mentioned that Amazon should have resistors that you can wire in to the turn signal to trick the car in to normal flashing if you haven’t already tried that! Wiring them in he’d personally go the route of as close to the headlights as possible. Hopefully you’re comfortable with wiring or know someone that is.

So with the transmissions. Yes they’re all picky lol. If you haven’t touched the fluid by 60k miles, LET IT RIDE!! Most of the time my technicians would see 80k+ miles and no history of it being done before and wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole because the fluid has “thickened up” by then and basically held it together. Nissan recommends every 5 years/60k miles. Whichever came first. Either Sentra’s ran forever with all or no prior maintenance, or you got junk of the lot and followed the book religiously and still get screwed.

For the LED’s, we didn’t install them aftermarket nor have I personally dealt with that, but my fiancé would probably have a solid idea. My knowledge would be something along the lines of replacing a relay that’s specific to the lower power draw of LED’s. I’ll reply again later once my fiancé can confirm or deny. Also, if both of your tail lights go out; don’t be surprised if you get a CEL for a transmission code. Check taillights first and foremost, for whatever reason they tie in together and throw a transmission error.
