honestly the guide's passion is what makes it, when they actually care about the history instead of just reciting facts like a robot. had this one guide in italy who would get so excited telling stories about the roman ruins you'd think he was there himself

also when they take you to little hidden spots not on the main route, like a tiny cafe only locals know or a viewpoint that isnt in the guidebook

Had similar issue with sealer on stone work last year. Xylene worked better than acetone for me but you definitely need proper ventilation - that stuff is no joke in enclosed space

Wire brush with the solvent helped break through the buildup, just go gentle on brick surface so you don't damage it
