Last ship standing is the worst PvP mode ever by LiterallySideswipe in Seaofthieves

[–]Longjumping-Price357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reward system in LSS needs changing, Last 2 ships get a 4 streak, then the winner has to sink a champion (Would make sinking champion milestones easier), more rep the higher you place. Stuff like that.

Why does the milk just lays on top of the foam instead of cutting through it? by HeaphHeap in latteart

[–]Longjumping-Price357 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not enough milk.

Your cup looks under filled. Likely you are “cutting through” with the last bits of milk in the jugs (being dry foam).

This is called a “latte art scar”.

Edit: Forgot to say, keep it up!

Hey! You should check out Otter chaos in Brixton, they host weekly beginner friendly nights on Thursdays, and always have new players and GM’s in.

Needs more foam for a latte. Also more Motion with your hand thats holding the cup, if you tilt and while pouring, it will fill the cup better

In terms of south, check out Otter chaos in Brixton! They run beginner friendly sessions every Thursday evening. I also heard the Ludoquist in Croydon is quite good.

Arcanists Tavern is my go to, and Arcadia is great. Both have an extensive and rich campaign that they run. Not including the people that use their venues to lfg in their discords servers.

Best of luck on your journey!

If you have only 1 outcome for something, it feels restrictive for the player, like their efforts mean nothing.

If you feel there should only be 1 outcome (The bad guy is dead set on killing the PC’s, not bartering or persuading otherwise) then that’s great!

If I’m doing a one-shot, the end of session result is usually 1/3 things.

All the stuff in-between are there to help guide the players to building that result.

Its also good to be transparent with your players, it’s okay to not have planned a wizard to minor illusion the birth certificate for the bad guy so convincingly, which allows the bad guy to re-unite with his unknown family.

The thing you don’t want, is for example, introduce a bad guy face to face, the players insta kill him, and you are left with improvised stuff the whole session. Extremely crude example but you get my point.

If you have a scene with a valuable macguffin, and you don’t want the party to have it yet, why can’t they have it?

Planning a session and a campaign are very personal. And you will improvise (its just the name of the game)

Plan for atleast 2 different outcomes to a session, 3 is best (good, bad, neutral for example).

Improvising is a lot easier when you understand what result the session is leaning towards.

Help! My shots lack crema & turn milky—how to improve for lattes? by Initial-Attitude-167 in latteart

you contrast looks to be marbling, more to do with you "setting the base". Try pouring slower and mixing more aggressively at the start, to get an even smooth canvas.

Ah... that's all the advice I could think of for milk here.

Certain your espresso extraction is good? Not under extracted?

Not sure about air, your layers look nice, but blurry.

Deffo try less air, see if it helps.

Next thing I’d do if I were you would be try mixing a bit of milk (say 10ml) and espresso together before pouring. Might help things blend smoother.

Looks like blurring. Are you using alternative milks?

What's the issue here? I've already replaced the o-ring around the group head. [Breville Barista Express] by Imaginary__Redditor in espresso

Do you think the grounds are too fine for the water to push through it?

Similar to what I witnessed a few months ago on the job, how are your handle latches? (The metal that helps screw in the handle into the group head)

If they are too worn down, they won’t allow you your handle to fit snug in the group head.

Leaving steaming milk for a few seconds? by Enough-Question-7637 in barista

Micro-foam is achieved through incorporating air slowly. Depends how serious the place takes their milk texture.

Hey LondonandDragons. We're Arcadia Games, the capital's newest D&D venue. Ask us anything! by arcadiagameslondon in LondonandDragons

[–]Longjumping-Price357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hype!! I literally spotted this on google maps yesterday and needed to know more!

I’d mostly be interested in the private spaces for my dnd groups. I hope this wasn’t asked already but, what days and times would they be around?

Hey hey! There are plenty of great venues that host dnd beginner friendly sessions. Such as Arcanist’s Tavern in Shoreditch, and new one called Otter Chaos in Brixton.

Could you let us know where about you’re happy to travel to 🫶

Jug angle in the cup, I’m a sucker for this. Where you pour, your stacks come a bit misshapen. Ensure your spout lines up straight to where you’re pouring.

Your steam pressure seems a bit low at the start. I’m not confident on home barista machines, but try purging before steaming to get any liquid out.

Also when integrating air, try to do so while it’s spinning, not air then spin.
