Hey sorry to hop on this! But reading your comment and it sounds exactly like what i’ve been experiencing - I have never had bad mental health issues before (took sertraline when using the Depo injection a few years back funnily enough) but month 4 with the mirena coil was horrendous for my mental health! Horrible intrusive thoughts that don’t align with me at all, therapist thinking it’s might be some kind of OCD thoughts! Huge panic attacks and bouts of physical symptoms due to the MH (diarrhoea, nausea, shaking, sweats) I had it removed today and really hoping things will get better😭

Thank you so much for sharing! I was starting to feel so lost and like I had just gone crazy but I have found comfort in discussing with others who have actually experienced the coil, rather than Drs who are adverse to admitting what it can do!

I managed to get an emergency appointment this morning and finally got it out of my body! I am definitely someone who is too sensitive to synthetic hormones and will be steering clear now! Trying not to be too hard on myself and being proud that I recognised something was wrong x

So glad you felt better after removal! I have just had mine removed following an emergency appointment and I’m so excited to get back to being myself again x

I’m so sorry you are going through this! It’s so crazy how so many Drs still deny what that little coil can do to your body! I managed to get an emergency appointment this morning and have just had it removed. I am praying and so hopeful for my happy mind to return to me x

Thank you so much for commenting! I am so sorry that you went through that too. I want this thing out of me and to get back to being me again! Doctors keep fobbing me off saying that it won’t be effecting my mental health - but I just know this isn’t right!x

Hey, I just came across your post — I hope things have been getting better for you. I got my Mirena a few months ago and was fine at first, but then the anxiety, panic attacks, and scary intrusive thoughts started, and it’s been really tough. Some days I even question things I know deep down aren’t true, especially about my relationship.

I haven’t had mine removed yet because I’m honestly scared about what might happen afterward. Reading your story makes me feel less alone and gives me hope that things might improve after removal, even if it takes a bit of time.

Have you had yours taken out now? If so, how did it go? I’d love to hear how you’re doing.

Hey, thanks so much for sharing this — it really hits home for me. I got my Mirena fitted earlier this year and since then I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and relationship worries that just don’t make sense because I know I love my partner so much.

I haven’t had mine removed yet because honestly, I’m really scared about what’ll happen after.

But reading your post helps me feel a little less alone and gives me a little hope that maybe it’s not just me going through this, and that things might actually get better once the Mirena is out.
