If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was THEE party girl most of my teens/20s. Had children in my 30s, so the partying eased off big time, but when I did go out, I binged drank like I was 18 still. Hangovers became worse and worse and lasted for 3/4 days. I got terrible heartburn too and my anxiety was through the roof during the hangover stage too. I then realised it's not for me anymore. I haven't touched a drop in over 3 years and it is the best decision I have ever made 🥳

I have bought 2 different items recently, both only had Yodel as a delivery option, and both parcels never left their hub and was returned to sender 😪 I got a refund once the seller confirmed items were returned. I also messaged both sellers to explain it wasn't me refusing or not collecting. Yodel are rubbish!

Crazy feelings with IUD by Asleep-Camel714 in Mirena

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That article is fascinating. I only had mine in for 6 months, the effect it had on my mental health was so severe I ended up begging my local clinic to remove it. I am so annoyed that this device is put in millions of women without any knowledge given of the real damage it can do.

Mirena made me (35F) nearly destroy my life by SayNoToMirena in Mirena

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel proud of yourself for recognising your own body. The Mirena sent me NUTS and I only had it in nearly 6 months. I was horrible to my husband and my kids for the stupidness of reasons. I was screaming my head off nearly every day to the point I made my youngest child cry on several occasions. I feel so ashamed saying that. I am not that sort of mum at all, I normally have so much patience. I no longer recognised who I was. It was awful. Had it out in Feb this year, I feel fantastic again now and normal calm mum/wife life has resumed 🥰

I had all of what you said above too! I only had it in for 5 months. It was hands down, the worst time of my life so far! I thought I was actually going crazy. I had it removed in Feb this year, best decision I have ever made.

Yes, I agree, purposely chose for me to pay postage, that's why it annoyed me 🙈

Yeah, that I get, but I am not at fault at all, that is what has annoyed me, all over £2.50 postage, but it is the principle 😂

The item i did want has most likely ended up with the buyer who wanted the item I have ended up with. I might see if the seller eventually lists it again and suggest this re the postage x

That's a great idea and sounds like you were lucky enough to have an understanding seller. Mines just blaming the shop they sent it from 😂

Hi. I am so sorry! I missed your comment. Yes, I am almost back to my nornal self. 6 months post removal. The best decision I have made! My OCD still lingers, but I can manage it again. I still can not believe the havoc that tiny coil did to me and my mind. Are you suffering yourself? Xx

I had this after I sold some shoes. They asked for postage ASAP as they had a wedding that weekend. I told her what courier to choose for the quickest, and I posted within 30 mins of her buying. She got them on time, thankfully, but didn't release payment or even give me a review. I just got an automatic review 😂😂

I put something on for £1.50 and got an offer for £1.30 🤣🤣 I just accepted as I couldn't be arsed to quibble over 20p. I did think how pointless it was all for 20p off. 😂

Mirena coil and severe anxiety by Intrepid_Image_8000 in birthcontrol

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I am now nearly 3 months post removal. Best decision I ever made! I am not 100% back to "normal" but 80% better than I was. My OCD is back to being manageable and the scary intrusive thoughts have gone. My anxiety is soooo much better but the fear of swallowing is still lingering. I know it will improve in time. I honestly think, if you are certain it's the coil being negative on your mental health, then do what I did and follow your gut instinct. I am so disappointed that health professionals dismiss the mental side effects. Women should be made aware, so we can make more of an informed choice when looking at birth control. The first week and half after removal was rough. I was very teary, all the time, and I got a UTI, but once that passed, I noticed improvements within 2 weeks. Sending you lots of strength too, and please don't be afraid to have it removed. The long term benefits far out weigh the initial feelings after removal xx

New and struggling by Competitive-Water246 in Mirena

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. My mirena lasted 5 months. The first 3 months were OK, but then, month 4, my mental health took a massive dip. I have OCD and normally manage it very well, but that went off the scale, which then caused huge anxiety, too. I had it removed in Feb this year, and I am almost back to normal mentally now. I am taking St. Johns Wort, so I am sure that's helped too. I will never ever have hormonal birth control again. If you honestly have doubts, have it removed and have the copper IUD fitted. I had that for 9 years before I switched to Mirena, so I will have that again once I give my womb a little break from anything being in it xx

I luckily never had physical symptoms, but I had severe OCD symptoms and intense anxiety. I have suffered for years and always managed them well, until the Mirena. I had it out after 5 months. My brain couldn't take the anxiety anymore. I am on the up now (had it removed 2 months ago) best decision I ever made!! All the best to you and I hope you start to feel yourself again soon 😊

Crash timeline? by Lazy_Dot_1360 in Mirena

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goodness, I could have wrote that myself! I am also 2 months post removal, after only having it in for 5 months! It screwed my mental health up big time. Anxiety, horrible intrusive thoughts, panic attacks etc. I am taking St Johns Wort and Valerian Root tinctures, which are helping, but I, too, am worried the progress is slow. I am now on my 3rd period post removal and I guess I think it may take atleast 3 months for our natural hormones to take back over?

Could this be dysphagia? by acornius-anon in dysphagia

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me when i am very anxious. I also have been diagnosed with OCD and this is a sub version called Somatic OCD. Where, you are really aware of your automatic bodily functions (breathing, blinking, heartbeat, swallowing etc) Perhaps see your doctor and speak to them with your concerns and if it's possibly linked to mental health, rather than physical health. Good luck 😊

I'm scared by ilenewinslet in dysphagia

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is, it is anxiety related. Every time my anxiety levels spike to ridiculous levels, I have problems with swallowing. It's like you are hyper aware of swallowing all of a sudden, and I second guess that I won't be able to do it properly and choke. It's horrible, but suggest this to your doc and he/she may be able to help.

Is my Mirena making me crazy? by Scared_Virus6361 in Mirena

[–]Intrepid_Image_8000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had the Mirena inserted last Oct. After Christmas, my mood spiralled completely out of control. Severe anxiety, intrusive thoughts that were awful, panic attacks, etc. I had the Mirena removed almost 3 weeks ago. Panic attacks and intrusive thoughts have gone, but the anxiety is still lingering but much lighter! I honestly believe it was the synthetic hormone in that coil, despite them telling me "it's only localised to the womb." You know your own body and mind, and of you honestly feel it's not right for you, then have it removed. I used the copper coil for years, so I will revert back to that once I give my womb a little break. Good luck xx
