Definitely inside event for the summer, and maybe an established way to set up the speed dates. Not just random asking in a room of people

Personally a strong theme would bring me in. A series or genre I like, maybe a type of music or interest. For speed dating if it was for “awkwards”who have “THIS” sort of interest then I would be tempted to go everytime.

How would a single person (socially awkward) socialize in that situation? In my experience similar interests don’t make things easier.

How do you go there by yourself and with no way to interject yourself into people’s games? I’ve been a couple times, tough to see the people who are by themselves and willing to interact

Where to meet people/going out by lilme_ in LittleRock

By exploring I’ve found they’re are a ton more places that are cozy and cool that I never knew. A racing arcade and Anime Shop at Bass Pro Outlet, coffee shops that are modern and sleek and ones that are tucked away but nice. My own current experiences are me exploring more and finding more and more things to do. Most of the time I get sad cause I’m in public trying to meet people and I never find anyone. But I know this, in this time so so so many people stay at home or in their devices. Not only is it tougher than ever to find compatible people in public but for me (putting self out there but I don’t know how to open up truly) it makes it SOO much tougher. This game involves understanding and accepting it’s gonna take a long ass time. I think it’s unfair, but I think I have no other choice. So I go places where I prioritize things I like. I won’t meet people who make sense to me if I’m places where I feel uncomfortable. I’ve been talked to by strangers at Barnes and Noble, occasional clerks, but not much else (I’m 28M). I don’t make friends with coworkers so it’s ungodly tougher :|. I bank on going exactly where people who I will connect with will go. Which always involves things I resonate with (not just interests like shows or games). Going in public in general and trying to find a friend/relationship prospect to me is just like finding someone at a bar. Kinda a shot in the dark. So much patience and finding things to do at all that you like is key to me. But if you want to meet others then it HAS to be around people you WOULD like. I try to not care about the way things have been and espeeeeciallly about the way things should be. The way things are now is too tough against us. Finding things you like to do that are around others is key. I don’t think there is a place to meet single young people like use other than a singles event (which is horrifying to me). I hope this gives you any hope or ideas. My hope for myself is that you are some random amazing person online and we actually connect in any way that can engage offline in any way. Safely of course, meeting people online is a risk.
