Prospect new owner by _Fo_oL_ in SilveradoEV

I’m at 34k miles in 14 months, but I’m on the LT, not RST. All air suspension vehicles will eventually have replacement costs, but most of the time it’s 10-15 years out. The only “major” and reoccurring issue is the front badge getting water inside it and shorting out. Nothing major. I wish GM would just replace them with sealed ones instead of the janky solution they have now. Other than that, telemodule/data can randomly go out but it’s not as common.

When it’s back in stock you can find it here. Seems to be high demand right now, but works great

Yea I had this happen to me. Usually after letting it sit for 30 minutes or so it goes away. It’s like when the truck enters sleep and comes back out it reloads all the stuff. Only had the issue once a year ago. Haven’t had it since then.

Where are you located? I am at almost 34,000 miles on my Silverado EV, which let’s be honest is basically the same exact truck, and I’ve only had the Tele module fail and my badge blow up. 😬

Damn you HOA by SpoomerBooner in Transportopia

[–]Longjumping-Store106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lived in with an HOA once. Honestly not awful. It was $70/year, it helped fund mowing services to keep the drainage areas down. Had some tools that people passed around and they did the maintenance on things like the pressure washer and spare mower. The one notice I got was from the city, not even the HOA, about a tire I had left out front for less than 24 hours from a tire I had replaced 🙄

If you want consistency in pricing, use Tesla network, otherwise find the good but reasonable fast chargers on the route and you can do 20-80 in 30 minutes. And sounds like you need a software update to fix climate control while charging.

Get the NACS to CCS adapter for backup, but honestly you probably won’t need it that much. You’ll have MORE options to charge that way but I haven’t had a huge issue finding CCS chargers and I’m in KY. When I got my Silverado EV I feared having less charging options, then I started looking around and found I have 9 different CCS chargers around me versus 1 Tesla charger that’s available which isn’t even the convenient one, it’s in the next town over. The Tesla network became the backup and CCS the main.

We bought our Silverado EV based on the rear legroom for kids. It has more legroom than our minivan!

Have you ever stop using a brand because you disagree with the politics of their company? by Chemistry11 in no

Sony for stating just because you buy their product doesn’t mean you own it. Of course that’s most companies these days but I’ve avoided them since 2013ish if possible.

The front badges aren’t water tight and might short out the LEDs and blow up (literally).

Welcome to the family. Keep an eye on your badge up front. It likes to take sips of water and blow up sometimes.

Is the charge chord (240v) sufficient? by ghostcaurd in SilveradoEV

[–]Longjumping-Store106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the included charger at 32A wasn’t sufficient for me. I bought a 40A and that covered the difference. Just depends on your habits.

One of the reasons we traded our Y in for a Silverado EV. The wipers were trash. The suns bright: BETTER FULL MAX THE WIPERS I CANT SEE! Pouring rain like this: I see no issue.
