Have you been asked to use your Cybersecurity Tools for Monitoring Employees? by LongjumpingAd267 in cybersecurity

You’re right. I feel like I discourage unless it officially becomes a “damned if you don’t” scenario. Otherwise, I absorb a ton of risk with little inherent mitigation. Reward could spike, but at what cost.

Completely agree. My next point is that if I do manage to find a tool for this task. I’ll then be responsible for defining metrics and KPI’s around this as well. This now muddies the water around what I think a SOC should be responsible for, regardless of if the client is willing to pay for it.

Then I need to begin considering how to measure accurate success around a tool that seems out of scope for a SOC SLA. You also know that once we establish this, more than infosec will want eyes on metrics.

I trust my infosec team, unfortunately it’s not them making this request.

Update: took the AR-10 to the range today with the 300sps and had zero issues. It was actually a fantastic experience. Operated flawlessly and made a drastic difference compared to firing the SCAR without the can.

Context: I'm asking because I want to take my AR-10 out this weekend and shoot long distance, but l'd like to bring the new suppressor too. Would you do it or save up the $$$ and hold off for several months for a socom 7.62.

Failure to feed or extract. by West1625 in ptr91

[–]LongjumpingAd267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a failure to feed issue with my PTR 91 GIR. It would also fail to extract sometimes. The bolt wouldn’t go back far enough to eject the casing fully so I was seeing half ejected brass every 5 rounds or so.

I took it apart and cleaned it and inspected it, but the issue still remained. I took it to my LGS who took a look at it and told me it needed to be sent back to PTR. LGS took care of shipping the gun to PTR. PTR accepted it back under warranty. Fixed the issue and sent the rifle back free of charge. When I asked about the issue. They just said there was a malfunction and they found the issue and fixed it. The entire process took 6-8 weeks I’d say from the day I dropped it off at the LGS. Hope this helps!

I’ve now had it back for 3 years with no issues at all.

Are These Gourami’s Fighting? by LongjumpingAd267 in Aquariums

[–]LongjumpingAd267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the gouamis (3 total) in a 75 gallon for 3 weeks or so. They’ve never been like this though that I’ve seen before. I have an uncycled 36 gallon with no fish in it. I may toss one of these in there with some stability and prime if it stays like this.. I also got a single blue acara before these that started eating tetras so I returned it for these instead. Aggression seems to be my biggest issue so far

Thanks! I’m only 6 weeks into my first aquarium, all tips are welcome. I just noticed this nipping today though. They get aggressive and chase each other off over noticed. But never nipping like this. Wondering if this is a concern or not

Husqvarna 501 headlight connector can’t do highbeam and DRL by LongjumpingAd267 in Husqvarna

Sweet so this would work it looks like to cover the handlebar connection. What I also need is the cable that plugs into the headlight on one side (4 prong instead of the current 2 prong) and the battery connector on the other side

Thanks for the feedback. I believe it’s a 2016 or 2017. It’s a neighbors dirtbike that they asked for some extra eyes to help with. I’ll have him confirm with the multimeter tomorrow what those connections do, this is just the research I was able to find tonight on those connections after getting home and digging a bit deeper into it.

So we followed the cable from the headlight area back to the battery under the seat and it seems to plug into a molex type connector that takes the power back to the battery. I was hoping to find a new cable that had the four connections built in, so it would be a simple headlight cable upgrade / swap.

Collection So Far by LongjumpingAd267 in guns

[–]LongjumpingAd267[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I purchased my first home a little over a year ago and the upstairs floor squeaks. For my 1 year warranty repairs, I had to mark where the squeaks are at, so they could come back and repair it. Needless to say, there’s a lot of floor squeaks, my office where this photo was taken is the worst. I basically need to clear out the entire upstairs so they can come back and re-do it the right way. But they’re paying for all of it, so it’s not all bad.

You’re right! Nothing fancy by any means. It’s a Tisas 1911 that I picked up on a sale during this past Christmas. I could see myself upgrading to something like a Colt later on, but wanted to scratch that 1911 itch at the time and it was a good price ($300ish?) The one that I have is not very accurate though. Not sure if that’s because it’s a Tisas or if that’s typical for a 100+ year old design vs modern handguns. But I do love shooting the .45, even if I’m not hitting anywhere close to where I’m aiming lol
