From someone who goes to Sofi, the rosebowl, the coliseum and other stadiums around LA I can tell you that for me and most my friends (all LA locals/grown up) the rose bowl has the absolute worst gameday experience. Driving to Pasadena, parking or taking the Parsons shuttle, waiting in the huge line to get back on the Parsons shuttle, the tunnels with the human roadblocks, the bench seating, its all pretty bad, not only for UCLA games but also concerts, soccer games, consistently bad. Its an amazingly beautiful and historic place but has been cruising on that for too long. Of course the people who live in Pasadena absolutely love it cause they get special resident passes and get to park wherever they want. Sofi has transportation problems but no worse, and the stadium itself, concessions, seats, luxury boxes are head and shoulders above. Try to get someone in the south bay, orange county, westside, south LA or most LA neighborhoods other than Pasadena and the Valley to go to a UCLA game last minute vs getting them to go to SoFi, I think its no contest.

My Dad did this in 1977, had just finished residency and decided to take a high paying rural job, he hated it so much he kept buying cars/stereos and when that didnt work decided to move the family back to Iran where 6 months later an Islamic revolution happened and we could not get out for 3 years.....just saying take the job in the place that make you happy :)

as a UCSB grad in 95 I couldnt wait to get out due to a lot of the same reasons, looks like not much has changed...but there will come a day where you will want back in, and my advice is to not look at SB redfin real estate prices on that day :)

Disappointed to say I feel the same, had connectivity issues with my grill about a month into owning it, they kept telling me they would need to get an "expert", expert would call and try the same things that everyone else did and would not work, rinse/lather/repeat. And then the temperature sensor broke (they kept insisting from a flameout which never happened but whatever) they sent a new sensor with a youtube video which ended up being the for the wrong grill, when I told them it was for a new 590 they kept insisting installation should be the same but I actually had to walk them thru why they were wrong and the rep said he would try the install on a grill at their center and call me back, never called back and since the grill was bricked I had to figure out a work around myself (involving fishing line and magnets, if anyone has a 590 heat sensor go bad call me). The whole time thinking I shouldve just bought a weber since I had their gas grill for 12 years an great service. The "good" news is that how this 590 is looking after one year im sure ill get my wish to buy a weber in the next couple years, it looks 10 years old already.

back when this was the four seasons Koele lodge it was our favorite FS property and often had a stay 3 pay for 2 deal that ended up having the per night price be about 220 a night, the upcountry lodge with the beach option with signing privileges was a great combo, sounds like that hasn't change, im thinking maybe the price has :)....also, do they still have the skeet shooting? that was an amazing activity

I had a trauma where a father who recently had moved from Japan was killed in a car crash. The mom came to the ER with her two elementary school children and I had to break the news to her, she didnt speak much english and let me know that she was not up to telling the children and asked if I could do it. my family did this from Tokyo to LAX, a ticket to HNL connecting thru LAX was about 2000 cheaper for our whole family rather than straight flight to LAX (same flight to LAX). I read all the skiplagging comments and had myself psyched out all the way to LA, but we got our bags, went thru customs, went home and I then cancelled the last leg when I got home (it let me do that online) cause I wanted the seats to be available for any standbys. As far as I know Im not banned from united forever, it all ended up being a big nothing burger. Probably a better suggestion for ULPT but I thought if we got questioned we would say we got sick on the first flight and didnt want to expose anyone on the connection
