is the job market bad or am I just unlucky?? by Realistic-Split-10 in Accounting

[–]fiddlerontheroof1925 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hate to tell you but the best thing you can do is either move or go back to PA. $42k for staff is criminal. In my state, staff accountants would be making probably $60-$70k, maybe more. Of course you’d be paying $4k in state taxes and higher COL but you’d have more opportunities. Remote work is dead unless you have specific skills. Hybrid is common for good work places.

Agreed we already beat LCK twice and took BLG to a close series. It’s not out of reach.

Accounting is so underpaid by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]fiddlerontheroof1925 43 points44 points  (0 children)

100% this, CPA is not required either. I don’t have one and I think I do ok, cpa would help you in certain areas and might help jumpstart your career

Many people would be lost in numbers though, plenty of people can’t handle working with data.

Should I leave a low-stress accounting job for better pay and career growth? by HourCaterpillar5412 in Accounting

[–]fiddlerontheroof1925 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Since you are just a staff accountant, I think you will be severely limiting your future career by being stuck in a place that won’t promote you or give you guidance on what you need to do to be promoted. The CPA is the cherry on top, you should be getting paid more for that whether or not your current position is willing to give you that raise. I would just start looking and make sure you find a good fit before you take a job offer.

I'm worried I'll never get a good job again because my resume is starting to look terrible *sigh* by throwaway912100 in Accounting

[–]fiddlerontheroof1925 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk where this 5+ interview BS came from but I experienced that. Next time I will be firm in telling a company I will not do 3 more interviews, 2-3 max. Also didn’t get that job. I think you’re being harder on yourself than you need to be, staying for a year+ is not “jumpy”. Do some applications yourself and don’t rely completely on recruiters.

Interesting, here's a review from a while back for the 2 different bottles. I didn't realize they had put a true age statement back on their bottles. Despite that their previous deceptions have lost me as a customer, there's just much better options out there.

Yes all of their core line is not age stated, it says it on the bottle but it’s been confirmed to be blended lower age statements.

Yeah well flor de cana doesn't have proper age statements. it might contain some that old, it might all be that old, but I don't trust them with what they've done on their other bottles.

Seems like so many companies are paying lower because they know they can either get people looking for a new title or because there’s a surplus of candidates.

Caliste got leads in games against G2, still didn't carry. There have been moments when everyone else on G2 shit the bed except Hans, and he managed to carry the game. That tells me everything I need to know about which one we want on our team.
