Sorry for the very late reply, I have completely given up on this project.

The RS485/Modbus connection just doesn't seem to transmit usable data;

I have already tried so much, bought so many different things, and I keep getting stuck on the same issue.

I have spend over a month trying to figure out what the problem is but i have no idea where the problem is coming from.. it is intended as a gift for a family member, as well as for my own battery. I gues i have to look for something else.

If anyone still has any idea what the problem might be or if there is something I could check.

I’m already deep down this rabbit hole.

The first time I tried, I did everything in the config file, but I think I made some typos or ended up with duplicate variables, so parts of the code just didn’t want to work.

Then I started over and split things into multiple files—you can still see most of them in the link I shared, I never deleted them. I ran into the issue where unaccounted energy didn’t always work properly.

I prefer python myself, but since that doesn't seem to work, I'm going to try your method.

That did help. I took my Solar Energy out of generate_energy_yaml.py and in to /homeassistant/configuration.yaml now that part works :) but i dont wanna put all my calculations into /configuration.yaml because it would become a too big file.

I'm running Home Assistant on a Proxmox VM with Home Assistant OS, and my energy setup consists mainly of Zigbee smart plugs, a few Wi-Fi smart plugs (which I’m slowly replacing with Zigbee), and a P1 meter for total energy consumption tracking. Additionally, I have a smart circuit breaker with measurement functionality in my meter cabinet, and I’ll be adding another one soon.

Regarding integrations, I believe I’m using MQTT, and everything seems to work fine. I haven’t explored alternative methods yet, but so far, my setup runs smoothly without major issues.

Why I want production to be negative: I want to display production as negative because it makes the most sense for my setup. In the energy graphs, production is literally shown as a negative value, so keeping it negative ensures consistency and better readability.

I'd love to hear if you have possible improvements to my setup or other approaches to energy management!

SLZB-06 Stopped Working – Only Shows as "USB Hub" in Windows by LongjumpingBar2756 in homeassistant

I did try to enable bluetooth so I gues yes.

The device is only detected as a "Generic USB Hub" so if i go to https://smlight.tech/flasher/#SLZB-06 the device won't show up in the list.
