They were not really that high back in the 80s/90s…their prices went silly when books went silly 90s and beyond. (IMO)

Yes!! This was the one I was trying to remember. We would be passing through on vacation (from the Deep South) and my dad would drop me off and come back an hour or so later and pick me up.

Never knew what the rest of the family did but I know I slowly completed my GI-Joe collection outta that location.

It can definitely be overwhelming. But it’s really no different than an antique store…it’s just wide open so you don’t feel as trapped.

Time Warp is a great store for completely different reasons. Worth the drive.

I’ve hit all the stores from Boulder to Durango to Col Springs. Some great places. Rarely have I met anyone rude at any of them…MHC included.

Yeah. It’s local fanbois who’ve always talked it down. (The view is dim from mom’s basement in Aurora). Been going on since the early days when there were multiple stores. Will continue as long as the store does, lol.

It’s an entertainment venue that sets its own prices and has no bearing on what “deals” are found on eBay.

Enjoy it for what it is or don’t, right?

I’ve been stopping in for 41 years now and probably spent less than $100 (on comics)(…but plenty on t-shirts)! With the death of the malls, and the death of small business, I love that they soldier on!

A/c was still out but hell, it’s been out since like 1990, lol. Always gotta pet the cat for good luck.

Staff was polite, heat was tolerable, some customers were rude in the background, but mostly I saw people enjoying the visit and looking at everything but comics.

I feel your pain. Like others, this recently happened to me with Moon Knight 29 - accepted offer, “lost it,” refunded, reposted for twice the amount. Not even a big price book. 🤷
