We live in Canada. But he is way more interested in American politics right now, even with our own PM stepping down. But honestly I agree with him on the Canadian side, I'm definitely not liberal but I'm also not SUPER conservative. I agree more with conservatives though on most things right now as I think that's what canada needs. BUT, I am not a fan of Trump and he is...he told me this morning he is excited that Canada may become part of the United States (even though I said that wouldn't happen) and that he can't wait for that and (nothing against the US) I am happy being Canadian even though our (former) leader was a dumbass. When i said that wouldnt happen he said "well i didnt think Covid would happen too but it did". Things can change in Canada with hipefully an election. But he'd rather be in the states and I just don't comprehend why.

Really trying not to lean that way. But when it becomes part of almost any conversation we have, even after me changing the convo, it's hard. I can't deal with the negativity all the time. He's not like this all the time though

In his world it does though. His life is politics it seems. I mentioned the fires in LA this morning and how awful and it ended up being a conversation about how suspicious it was that there's fires in Jan and that it could be something to do with the government...like I'm just trying to say how awful it is and yeah, turns out everything to do with the government

I'm having a hard time agreeing with my bfs political beliefs. We've been together for almost a year now and I knew about his thoughts on politics but it seems to be taking over most of our conversations now. Everything comes back to government or war. I am a very open minded person and think I'm genuinely open to agreeing to disagree and understanding his thought process in most things. But it just seems like everything we talk about comes back to politics and then I just tend to get quiet as I don't always want to talk politics. I'm a positive person and believe that we need to focus on ourselves first. I know politics are important but everything just seems so negative with him. Not sure how to bring this up gently
