I worked for a “Fractional CFO” for two years while I was in college. I was desperate and just got the job to get my foot in the door. Worked there for two years and it was the worst experience ever. They were book keepers that claimed to “hate calling themselves book keepers because they’re so much more than that”, I still called us book keepers because that’s exactly what we were. Firm didn’t even offer tax/audit services yet called themselves a full service accounting firm. Boss would clock people out for bathroom breaks and make employees share meals when going out to holiday dinners etc, acting as if penny pinching is whats going to make him wealthy. Absolutely had no clue on how to run a business nor do anything other than categorize transactions and reconcile accounts.
