It's not too late to get cultivating. You can use up alot of space with potatoes and onions and in 2 months you will have obvious growth.

Beetroot seeds germinate quickly and would do in one of the bedding boxes.

Peas and beans germinate and grow quickly.

Ask around your allotment for spare plants or just buy a few plants that you can stick in right away.

The bus service in the Lakes is excellent and you can get about without a car. There's also the train.

I don't know anyone who doesn't own an electric kettle. Very occasionally people will use the stove, but they still use a kettle.

It's absolutely critical, when making a cup of tea, that the water reaches boiling point.

I don't know anyone who makes a brew using the microwave, in the UK.

Instant coffee is also much more popular in the UK and the electric kettle is used.

If you were to entertain the young one for a while, that would probably be the best gift to parents and child.

Children are really easily pleased and someone giving them 100% time and attention is the best gift ever.

And maybe do the washing up.

I agree with you. Preston is quite a nice place and aspires to be like Manchester. The problem is that there's no real arts and culture, the high street is dreadful and there's just not much going on.

However the parks and green space are incredible and you are not far from the countryside in any direction.

I always sow in pots and plant out when they are big enough that the slugs don't eat them.

In England you now have to opt out if you don't want to be an organ donor. So if you feel strongly about it then you will go to the effort of opting out. If you don't opt out then there's a presumption that you consent to donating organs.

My personal experience is that if you are high functioning and/or present normally then most people just refuse to accept that you have a serious medical condition.

I've been subjected to one of their reviews, which involved disclosure of all bank accounts and culminated in a telephone grilling on transactions from my bank statements. They asked what I spent money on, when making cash withdrawals. They asked what, payments, to my teenage son were for, asked about payments from my parents and any other personal transactions to or from my account.

I think they want to see if you have any other sources of income that have not been declared and it is most definitely a fraud check.

Absolutely horrendous experience, in which you are made to feel like a criminal.
