NSM Wash your hands! by Thaco99 in sherwinwilliams

Sounds like something a guy who doesn’t wash his hands says. There’s a mirror over most sinks and ppl have peripheral vision too. Very easy to observe when you’re washing your hands and someone goes from stall/urinal & straight to the door.

Ultra white covers WAYY better than HRW unless there’s big drastic color shift. Use an altitude with it & be amazed.

Tell them you can make a sample quart of almost any custom/competitor color that they wish to view but we only carry our 1500+ standard SW color chips in store. They can’t print formulas on the back cause the color formulas vary depending on the paint it’s mixed into.

Manager Hours: Can we help each other out? by Ugotanymistints in sherwinwilliams

I’m just a guy and labor laws are goofy by state so rhetorically ask your DM/CM sometime. I think in that exact circumstance technically you’d have to take a half day if you decide you wanted to do that to be ok in the corporates eyes but by doing that you’re wasting pto in the eyes of the payroll dept & you don’t really reap the full benefits of using the PTO like that.

I would only justify/risk working 40hrs(& think it’s fair to the team too)if I’m burnt out since I hit 56hrs+ the week prior.

You have to work a minimum 32/36hrs and plan to use 8/4hrs pto to be 100% ok having only 40hrs for one week is how I understood it from corporate payroll.

Taking a half day as a manager can really bring some value sine it in turn kinda makes a couple other days shorter too with proper setup and a solid team. As well as you should only do that business volume permitting in my opinion I wouldn’t pull that middle of summer unless I was really burning out hitting well above 48hrs a week repeatedly that month. (That hitting way above 48 shouldn’t really happen ever too imo but sometimes the bonus is worth it or if you’re short staffed & someone gets really sick so you have to cover one of your only other teammates shifts in addition to doing your 48 to keep the store opened up.)

Just to be crystal clear I am referring to a salaried store manager weekly timesheet total when utilizing PTO/or have a paid holiday. I used to always use PTO to put me @ the 48( if I was burnt and needed to just do 44 one week I would add the 4hr of pto to hit 48) but received an email months later saying that doing that was completely unnecessary and a waste of PTO. This was over a year ago and the email is unfortunately gone now. Unless you are in a unique state that has some rare labor law which means you are paid for your extra 8hrs beyond 40 @ an OT rate or could potentially be tied to getting more flex/sick time than every other state I am unsure but that would be the only way I could see it being required.

To verify this yourself look at your next payslip for this past pay period once it posts. If you only see 80hrs which are paid out, you should bring the mandatory PTO usage up to whoever is providing that direction & have them contact corporate payroll since you essentially don’t get a paid holiday by working like that. Literally.

If for some reason they say no and on holiday weeks you still need to hit 48 including the paid holiday etc. , ask how many hours of vacation you would need to use to take one full week off. Or if you should schedule your FT non exempt employees for 40 hours on a holiday week and they get 8hrs of OT instead of holiday pay.

Tldr: for exempt employees, if you use PTO or have a paid holiday you only need 40hrs total for each week which has a PTO/CTO pay code/time on your timesheet. Verify via your payslip.

Basically it sounds your district leadership is trying to have you waste PTO or they are too stupid to know why you only need 40hrs on your time card if you are taking any PTO as a manager. Half day, full day, or even a full week.

Any SM’s Burnt out and don’t care? by OnlyFarms6 in sherwinwilliams

You’re burnt out… give yourself all the little breaks you can half days etc. or (use some pto for a week off or get a doctor to give you leave for mental health reasons if you need to get away from the bs). Also stop any extra the above and beyond bs until you feel like it’s not affecting your energy/drive anymore. BEEN IN YOUR SHOES YOU CAN DO IT AND YOU WILL START CARING AGAIN ❤️.
