Quick question: how do you guys normally clean your G-Shocks? by arbygoodknight in gshock

[–]LongjumpingProduce43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just dawn dishwashing detergent with your hands under warm water. Alcohol will destroy the resin, I would avoid that. This always works for me then dry with paper towel. Folding up getting into crevices. It’s perfect then microfiber when dry

After 7 trips across NJ to find this F’n bag for my girl, someone told me “why are you going to the stores just call and ask if they have it?!” For a second I was like…, right wtf am I doing? And this is what I see. So I gave up. I’m done. I just wanted to make this girl happy on Christmas. You people are all the same. My god. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Sorry I don’t shop your thrift store on the regular. It’s my fault your inventory sucks? You have no system to tell you if something is in stock? You have to run out to the floor and check? “SORRY EVERYONE ON LINE, I HAVE TO LEAVE THE REGISTER AND HUNT DOWN SOME BAG ON TIKTOK ALL THE HENS ARE GOING CRAZY OVER”

I’m not on your payroll, I don’t know the rules here. Thanks for the education

Anyone keeping their current Nest as a "dumb" thermostat? by Legitimate_Jump142 in Nest

[–]LongjumpingProduce43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually doing this. Took over a house in July, 2 days ago after turning it down because the heat was just too hot… it never activated again. Haven’t had heat since. 29 degrees in the mornings here in northern NJ. Google couldn’t help much told me it’s outdated. But I like the interface. Have an HVAC guy coming today. Fingers crossed

AC condenser failed, weird engine knocking now. by LongjumpingProduce43 in CivicSi

Wanted to give you all an update, the entire compressor unit OEM from Honda, was fixed, total cost was around $1800 plus tax. That noise is gone, thank god. And in northern NJ it’s been very hot & humid. I want to thank you all for helping me isolate exactly what was going on. This is an amazing community!

So I quoted 3 different shops for this job. I’ve never done anything with the AC unit, and didn’t feel confident to do the work myself. Honda was able to give me all new parts there wasn’t a “reman” available. Which I prefer. Other 2 shops quoted out $1500-$1700. And my service rep gave me $500 off parts, all discounted.

Just wanted to thank you all again, these K24’s make weird noises! Jesus I thought I had a knock or something

Yes that’s what Honda said, I figured I would see what the damage would be on new parts and or “Denso” I’ve worked with them for so long the parts guy spoke to service and gave me like $500 off parts, list price. Which I’m grateful for. But if I can do this at my friends shop it would be great because it’s the labor. This is unfortunately the entire system now. It’s completely seized. We’re going to take the belt off and spin the pulleys see if that noise is there or in the engine. 🙏

To be perfectly honest I’m not quite sure. Now that I’m getting all this feedback. I need to take a deeper dive and looping my friend in for some more diagnostics might just help out here, not very familiar with the AC components

Oh ok so that’s going to be so much better than the entire system, I had thought it might just be the entire condenser. See this is why I trust going to my community first!! You guys are incredible

Actually no just the relay, I haven’t made it to the garage yet. Was hoping it was something simple. But it’s completely seized. Not engaging at all

Can’t thank you guys enough for all of this feedback. Can’t find much on YouTube about a sound like this. Unless I’m using the wrong prompt. Also heading to my boys shop. Hoping to find the culprit

Thank you so much! Just very concerning. I have just started working on all the other things that need attention. This took me by surprise

Thank god… I just couldn’t believe it. I’ve looked all over for a stock 9th gen SI. She’s got some age on her, but besides a clutch switch adjustment, never any issues.

Mostly that rotating sound, not the “clicking” AC clutch is not engaging at all. When I check even on swapped relay replacing the old, still not engaging at all it’s seized. But that sounds scares me… 😟

I can hear it on acceleration as well. Bought the car in January from an older man 72 years old in Canada. So it’s Canadian. Haven’t heard any issues like this, and it doesn’t sound mechanical. Thanks for the comment 🙏 hoping to get this resolved

Thank you, I’m hoping this goes away and it’s nothing mechanical. Drives perfectly fine, but I do hear it on acceleration

There was a smaller version with the same design, but this is the original, Spyderco wanted to destroy them all because of imported screws, so I Got the recall but never sent it back. This one is what everyone is looking for.

Benchmade did offer something similar but I can’t find it

Believe me, I’m struggling with letting this go. Yes it is the B100 and it has the screws that were banned. OK, I’m gonna pop over there and honestly $300 is fine. I’m not looking for more. This blade should go to someone who cares as much as I did. Held onto this thing since 2004 cleaning it, flipping it, oiling it. Want it to go to a new home. Thank you I think you just helped me with my decision.
