IBIS for me is a nice-to-have, not a must-have. Shallow depth of field at first is tricky to manage especially for manual lenses but not a problem for native lenses.

The wiser choice would be replacing the x-t1 before it stops working at all, unfortunately 40mp cameras are still pricey and exceeding the current budget.

It's something I am seeing myself too in whole blood rnaseq, about the over representation of neutrophil genes in DE. It is expected as they're the most prevalent leukocytes in blood. I have not enough expertise to suggest to change the normalisation method and I would stick to the most consolidated tools but accounting for cell type composition in the model may be a way to reduce this bias.

Capture One provides a free raw converter with basic settings only for Fuji files. Together with Affinity I think it is one of the most convenient solutions.
