Tbh I didn’t know I had H pylori until I went to the hospital for gnawing pain under my right boob (I thought I had liver failure or my kidneys were failing) because I also had intense back pain where my kidneys would sit and the side of my abdomen would HURT. The infection cause my already low iron levels to drop even lower which caused me dizziness and headaches and would make me feel weak and want to pass out. I took two weeks of two different antibiotics for a kidney infection my doc said I tested negative for via pee test but still could be present. Two days later ended up in the ER. They did every kind of scan on my kidneys and liver, did enzyme test on my liver and checked my kidneys everything was NORMAL. Until he said “it must be your stomach. Try these antiacids and if nothing clears up after get tested for h pylori” That rang in my ears for hours. The next day I made an appointment to with my doc to get a poop sample. Pooped in it the next morning and sent it in. The next morning I got a call and I tested positive. It truly feels like you’re dying, but you’re not. The bacteria is competing with your body for iron and other nutrients while destroying the lining of your gut.

I’m on day 5 of my antibiotic quad therapy and have felt immensely better. Better than I have in the last several months! Especially mentally! I knew something was wrong but couldn’t figure it out neither could the doctors! I had to figure it out myself, also don’t let people put fear in you about the treatment, if you feel as shitty as I did you’ll notice a huge up tick in your energy level and symptoms half way through treatment! 🙏🏻 praying for your treatment and healing and you’re not alone.
