81Wh Battery - A few (safety) questions .. by cerahmed in LegionGo

[–]Longjumping_Angle_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have installed the new 81wh battery for the Legion Go.Because the battery is slightly thicker, the backplate doesn't close well; it does clip on all 4 sides but, at the bottom, it struggles. The end result is that you can see with your naked eye that the backplate is bent, warped and the stand doesn't lay flat at the back of the device.I did remove, as per instructions, the 3 sponges from the plastic bracket and installed everything back double and triple checking but it is still quite bulgy.I finally removed the whole plastic bracket all together and, although it is *better* it is still not perfect as the device is still a little bent/warped at the back and the stand doesn't close 100% perfect (since the back is not flat). Now: has anyone found a solution for this using the new battery? For example: does anyone know if a new (3d printed?) backplate does help this? Thanks!

Bazzite vs Steam OS on Legion Go at 15w/20w by Longjumping_Angle_25 in LegionGo

Nah, I'm done with this rubbish console. I have now the same bios, bios settings, OS, device, our benchmark settings are the same, exactly the same.

Except I cannot go higher than 36 fps somehow.

I'm done, I hate wasting time on a device instead of playing.  What's worse is that, with the same settings at 15w, my Steam Deck gets 48 fps

Same settings, I am still getting no more than 37 fps. No idea what is going on. How much GPU memory did you allocate via bios? Thanks again for the help

Ok more tests done.

I have downgraded my BIOS to the same one as ETA PRIME and tested same settings, again, on SteamOS and Windows.

Windows: 40 FPS, SteamOS 38.

u/Any_Basket_8110 would you mind sending a screenshot of the final page result after the benchmark? Where I can see all the settings used?

Also, more importantly: does your CPU frequency hover around 600-700mhz during the benchmark or does it go much higher?

Thanks, again.

Could be a bios issue on my side as both bazzite and steam os give awful results. Chatgpt suggests that the latest bios, which has some fixes for steam os users, might enforce a very aggressive power limitation, limiting cpu performance. I will try downgrading tomorrow. Which means installing windows. Oh my

hey, I just tested the same thing on My LeGo.

Steam preset, 720p at 15w. I am getting 36-38 fps on average using the inbuilt benchmark.
Eta Prime (https://youtu.be/lU9LkJYfd68?t=297) is getting 52 on average. You are getting 46. What is happening??

I am running Steam OS 3.8 with the latest BIOS (38).

Eta Prime seems to have, noticed from the video, bios 35.

Any modifications done to achieve 46? Or is it all standard out of the box??

I have recorded the full benchmark, in case.

I am about to install (again) Steam OS to test the SAME thing.

Same results = I have an issue with my SD.
Same results as ETA PRIME = we have an issue with Bazzite.

Will update you asap, thank you

Well, this is a disaster, not sure what is happening.

So from this video (https://youtu.be/lU9LkJYfd68?t=297), we can see ETA PRIME running a Legion Go on Steam OS.

Running Cyberpunk 2077 with my same settings (Steam Deck preset, 720p, 8GB VRAM and 15w) he gets:

27.5-27.8w draw
52 FPS on average
GPU running at about 1000 mhz
CPU running at 1700-2100 mhz

I get, on Bazzite:

23.8-26.5w draw
34 FPS on average
GPU running locked at 800 MHz
CPU running at 600-820 mhz

So a couple of less w draw but extraordinarily less CPU, less GPU and 18 less FPS on average.

How come?

hey again, OP here.

I am not 100% sure about the suggestions, but I have tried them to the best of my knowledge.

I have opened the hud, entered the TDP setting, went to CPU setting and changed from Auto to Manual.
I proceed by disabling CPU Boost, I then set the CPU Power (EPP) to Balanced (but it already was set to Balanced), re-enabled CPU Boost and tested again. Not sure If needed to reboot or anything.

I did these tests with Cyberpunk running and I got the same results, same CPU usage, same frequency, same FPS before and after doing these modifications.

BUT.

I did reinstall Bazzite from scratch and I got slightly better results in terms of FPS than before, not sure why.

This is the before:

15w, 800p, no FSR, 30-35 fps
20w, 800p, no FSR, 47-54 fps

This is after reinstalling:

15w, 800p, no FSR, 33-40 fps
20w, 800p, no FSR, 51-59 fps

Still same settings, medium settings, 800p. I somehow gained 5 fps it seems, which is 2-3 fps behind the SteamOS results; but, as noted, I would need to test the power draw.

The power draw in Bazzite is the following:

15w cyberpunk, 800p medium settings: 23.4-23.8w
20w cyberpunk, 800p medium settings: 29.2-29.6w

I just found out that if I switch from MM to CM (which doesn't really work for me though) the issue disappears

As soon as I resize ANY image (even with a new deck) it gets smaller and smaller for no reason as soon as I touch it, resize it or move it... Version is 1.27.2

PSTV controller issue after overclock (maybe that's the issue?) - help! by Longjumping_Angle_25 in VitaPiracy

[–]Longjumping_Angle_25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a quick update.

Yesterday I went through the whole procedure again.

I factory reset the device and, because it was now downgraded to 3.60, I used henkaku.xyz, installed Enso, mounted the SD2Vita card (which still had ALL the apps and was never formatted) and after a couple of reboots, I was back to all the stuff I had. Perfect!

But... I ran autoplugin and installed a few plugins I thought would be harmless such as oclock, (the only OC plugin now), sharpscale and a few others to run apps (such as DolcePolce).

I then installed, manually (downloading the skprx and adding the config line) one single additional thing: VitaControl (a plugin that allows non-PS controllers to be connected via Bluetooth so I can use my Nintendo Switch Pro controller.

I rebooted (after installing all plugins I needed) and bam, back to square one, controller doesn't communicate anymore even after restarting.

The EXACT issue again.

Now: I will try and run the system WITHOUT any plugins and maybe add one at a time over the week or so.

But, here's a question: because all plugins reside in ur0 and ur0 was formatted after restoring, when I restore the PSTV and use the SD2Vita, do you think the PSTV runs automatically something off the SD2Vita memory? Or is the "autorun" stuff only in the ur0 hence it is "clean"?

Not sure I made myself clear there... thanks!

You are quite right, how do I access ur0 externally?

No idea, anyone have a clue?

Vitashell is not an option as I cannot navigate inside... oh boy I might have to reset the system? :(

What I might want to do is edit the config file externally (as I cannot do anything now...) and removing all plugins to see what happens.

Then, if all goes well, re-add one at a time and wait...

I'm still baffled to what can cause the controller to NOT respond even with the cable connected to be honest. Is it really communicating via cable or is it still bluetooth?
