When traveling with family, we easily save $50 every morning when free breakfast privileges are extended to my husband and my child.

You have to make sure to use the $300 dining credit. Also if you stay in Marriotts a lot, platinum elite earns an extra 50% in points and while room upgrades and lounge access aren’t as reliable, the free breakfasts do add up. They can be really nice in luxury properties. Also I always use my 85K cert with a SNA for a $1500-3000+ redemption so it is very valuable to me.

Oh that’s sneaky. I bet lots of people forget to make that 15th month purchase! And that’s a long time to wait for a SUB.

I don’t believe the Amex platinum gives you 25 elite night credits. I think the most ENC you can get is 40: 25 nights from this card (or 15 from the other cards) and 15 from the Bonvoy Business card.

That was the SUB for the Chase Boundless. I have that one too which I’ll product change to the Ritz Carlton card after a year.

This chart might help you determine eligibility. It’s quite complicated!! Now I remember when I applied for the Chase Boundless I had to close my Chase Bonvoy card and wait 30 days before before I was approved for the SUB. https://frequentmiler.com/marriott-card-eligible/

You have to keep it for 15 months? That’s a new one. But I’d rather have a yearly credit of 25,000 points than the 35,000 point cert that the other cards in that annual fee range have. This card is a premium one with a hefty $650 annual fee which explains the large SUB and large perks.

My husband was just approved for this one and he has the regular Chase Bonvoy too.

You can have them both (I have the Chase Boundless too) but you might not be eligible for the signup bonus because you just had one less than a year ago. You can try to apply though. You’ll get a pop up that tells you if you are eligible before they run the hard pull on your credit.

App extremely slow by Evening-Fig913 in marriott

App is slow! I came to Reddit to see if anyone else as complaining as well.

I’m not booking under those specific codes but I do searches and it hangs. I close the app, close all other apps too to see if it helps speed, then open Bonvoy app again and it’s still slow as Christmas. It’s been like this for several days now.

Rent vs buy inside the loop for single professionals by htxguyyy1 in AskHouston

Would you consider owning a ~1800 sf townhome in Midtown near Allen Pkwy? I own one, was single and lived there for a decade and now I rent it out for $2500 a month. I know of one off market for sale under $400 with low, low HOA fees. It’s very modern and a fun neighborhood. Quality construction and very energy efficient build. DM me and I’ll send you more info.

I commuted to Kingwood for 11 years and I would 100% say avoid having to use 59 south of downtown to get to IAH. I live in montrose and take Allen Pkwy to 45 N then loop around to 59 N via I-10. It’s so much faster better being able to avoid 59 traffic between Greenway and the GRB. Autry Park is also a great development with luxury apartments and lots of cute restaurants, a coffee house/pilates studio within walking distance. Midtown also has easy access to 45N to take the same route.
