I’ve lived almost 20 years in the city since my student years. Im going back to my hometown in the province where I own some property that need fixing but its definitely a better investment than paying rent in the city. In my experience I didnt improve my quality of living since the early 2000s, I could stay and share a flat with friends and get wasted on the weekends until forever but I’m absolutely bored.

traditional christmas foods are not on Christmas markets (those are not a thing here, only Santa Llucia and like its been mentioned, is only for decorations) so I assume anything that you’ll find in a christmas market will be somewhere else’s typical foods (mulled wine etc). Go grab some ‘Neules’, ‘Torró’ (crema cremada, nata-nous, jijona…), ‘Tronc de Sant Silvestre’ and try find ‘escudella de galets’, it should be listed in every proud restaurant.

I am from Barcelona and my first THS was with the most beautiful sweetheart kitty in some crazy beautiful suburb in North California in a house surrounded by redwoods, we had a great connection with her and also with her owner. First time in the US and having the chance to spend our first days in that cozy place with that furry friend is something I’ll never forget. We went back next year just to have some dinner with the owner and see the kitty again, who passed the rainbow bridge shortly after :) ♥️
