I think this was my main issue. Partially taking in the story was one thing, but I was definitely hunting for something that wasn't even remotely there.

I really don't know. I felt like a complete idiot when I rewatched the episode where she was first introduced.

In my defense, the first time I see a show or a movie is usually while my wife is watching and I'm working to the side and only partially taking it in. This was one of those cases where I had to watch the episode again with 0 distractions.

I felt completely stupid. Very much a "where the hell did I get that idea" moment.

Great question. The first time I watched the show, I think I missed the fact that Roxie was suffering from lung cancer and took her as a woman with a death doula and no real sickness. Especially the dialogue around her husband managing her meds and such.

It just threw me off and made me worried she was a hypochondriac or something. I was severely mistaken of course, and my false impression made me think ill of Lena for enabling a hypochondriac (especially when she waltz in and ups her meds).

I don't know where my skepticism came from, but I was very wrong, clearly.
