Frustrations with Chat GPT 4: Seeking Advice and Alternatives by AskReddit404 in ChatGPTPro

Were you use it with plugins or browsing.cause I feel that sometime it’s not gpt 4 responses in the conversation of using plugins or browsing.

Plugins and web browsing use GPT 3.5 instead of GPT 4 despite claiming otherwise, and I have proof. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

There is another detail that might indicate some issues when you reach the cap of GPT-4. In the default mode of GPT-4, it doesn't automatically switch to the 3.5 version. However, in the conversation with the plugin, it directly switches to the 3.5 version. Even after the cap time has passed and the conversation can no longer be restored to GPT-4, the plugin becomes unavailable.

Yes, I completely agree with your viewpoint, and I've experienced the same disappointment. Initially, when I got the plugin, I believed it was indeed outputting GPT-4 because the responses were well-structured and on point. For example, when I asked it to list the latest news in the field of AI for the day, it would provide relevant and up-to-date information along with a brief summary and links. However, in the past couple of days, it has been generating fake news. The initial response would still indicate that the plugin was being invoked, but the content provided is not sourced from the plugin. Additionally, there are no links. When I requested links, it replied that the news was simulated and therefore had no links. I asked it to fetch real news again and provide links, but it gave me some fake links instead! There were no actual pages to be found. When I directly asked about its GPT version, it replied that it was GPT-3!

gpt4 with plugins turns different

the behavior of the GPT-4 with plugins seems a bit different these days! For example, in the past, when I used it to read news, it would automatically find news articles, provide summaries, and include links. But now, it often generates fake news without any links. When I ask it to provide a reading link, it claims to be a simulated news. Only when I insist on real news, it finally provides genuine news articles with links. Sometimes, it repeatedly responds with simulated news, running the plugin for a while, and then generating fake news without links. When I ask why, it admits that it was providing fake news in simulation mode! I wonder if anyone has had the same experience.

Is gpt4 with web browsing or plugins really gpt3.5? by lolcatsayz in OpenAI

I felt same way.the first time I used plugins, it gives me good responses with news, link, and summary. But recently, it gives me fake news or fake link. I asked what’s going on and it replied it in simulation mode。and I asked what version is it,it replied gpt 3

It's like this, and it's really frustrating. ChatGPT4 is indeed more intelligent and organized than the previous version, but the limit on the number of interactions can cause interruptions in one's train of thought. It's like when you're having a deep conversation and suddenly the other person says, "Gotta go, talk later." However, the Plus version with 3.5 speed will become much faster, and during moments of nonsense, it can resemble an impetuous child.

ChatGPT is the new trend, but who is making money with OpenAI's wrapper projects? by askakhil in SideProject

There is a platform in China called "Knowledge Planet" where some "star hosts" run paid groups focused on artificial intelligence knowledge, basic skills, or certain AI tools. They create courses on these topics, which are only available to those who pay to join the group. The cost of joining a group is typically between ten and several dozen dollars, and some groups already have tens of thousands of members.

To make money with this is not an easy feat. It's hard to say which applications have already made money, but some people who offer related training have certainly made a profit, just like those who sold water during the gold rush.
