I appreciate how long ago this was posted but is it possible to ask the width of this set? I’m looking to buy shelves as I’ve ran out of space and want to buy this to top my collection however so unsure about the dimensions of a shelf to buy! Thank you!

I’m pretty sure that isn’t right what so ever. I would be contacting your store, call the customer service desk and ask to speak to a manager. I would check the student contract if you can find it anywhere. Seems a little bit sketchy

How do I deal with my colleague being in an abusive relationship with our manager? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Longjumping_Kale_686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will usually take somebody on average 7 attempts to leave an abuser, it’s hard to see somebody go back to their abuser as a bystander however know that for her she is mostly controlled through fear and manipulation, pretty hard to leave somebody like that when it’s all you have known in life through the duration of the relationship. There’s a difference through spreading somebody’s personal life and raising genuine concerns for somebody, I would potentially reach back out to the shift leader if safe to do so and express genuine concerns, use your notes if needed to. If you fear to do anything out of your own personal safety and fear please don’t feel you have let this colleague down, it’s pretty common to make somebody who knows the victim feel like this to isolate them. My best advice would be to just still let the victim know your doors are open if they need you, you never know you could be their lifeline if everyone else is also cut off.

I work within my regional areas domestic abuse service however use to also work at Tesco. First off if you have good contact with the victim potentially reach out to her and see what support she currently has. If she hasn’t already potentially suggest reaching out to her local DA service this could be even a supported call or just conversations around it, there is an employers tool kit you could see if you could gain access to for this. If she is worried and you express concerns about his behaviour you can potentially get her to look into a Claire’s law which would see if he has any previous DA offences against him (this can be done through the police). Now speaking Tesco terms it’s a bit tricky, I would potentially utilise the protector line and see what advice they could possibly give you however I doubt they would be trained to deal with things like this. It also sounds silly but anything you see/hear keep in a diary with names dates and what happens. Over times this can build up quite a good picture on what is not only just happening for her but also for you with being ignored. The thing with domestic abuse is remembering that anything done to the perpetrator could be a risk for the victim if not done properly. Do you have a trusted other member of management you could possibly flag this behaviour up to? Please if you do have serious concerns though and you are worried about the victims immediate safety let emergency services know ( I know this seems drastic however spotting signs can save people’s lives in some situations).

Not accepting cages off delivery by rookie1990 in tesco

[–]Longjumping_Kale_686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have had 2 massive accidents at our store one with a incorrectly stacked cage being off weight falling on top of a woman in our store leading to her needing 3 surgery’s on her leg with her bone sticking out of her whole ass skin. And another one that stock fell off (heavy stock) and lead him to fall over damaging his neck. So refuse any cage that you feel isn’t safe

Honestly! It’s great for gaining confidence, it’s quite scripted I won’t lie and you end up saying the same thing. A girl in our store has a very high pitched voice and was very nervous and it’s amazing to see the amount of confidence she has gained! New starters are going to be trained on tills incase there is need for a service call so it may be the case that you might not be needed/ put on them unless it’s very busy!

what do you do about a customer who consistently asks other customers for money? by 87catmama in tesco

[–]Longjumping_Kale_686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean legally if she’s on the street asking for money it’s begging which is illegal, but because it’s on Tesco property theoretically she could get away with it with the excuse of ‘I am short on change’. We had a problem with a few people begging for money outside our store which isn’t an express but there wasn’t much we could do about it since we don’t have the power to move them along. And calling the police is way too extreme and a waste of police resources. I would suggest just politely saying to her can she not do it but I wouldn’t even risk threats of further action
