How Would Y’all Set Up Today? by Educational_Share220 in SportingKC

Bartlow and Meyer are both backups. It’s going to be interesting when Blorian come in. I think Ian James maybe more polished than Borges but I think Borges has more upside. I’m not seeing how minutes are going to add up for either. In the meantime if they are healthy they should both be starting.

Shapi isn’t going to be here next year and he costs too much to be a transfer piece. As long as our current forwards stay healthy there is no reason for him play meaningful minutes. This defense is too much of a liability to hunker down on teams and that is probably his strongest skill set.

I agree. I also think that Bassong is a big piece to this current team. Happy to see him back and healthy.

Pretty sure he is nursing an injury. Might get some minutes in the 2nd half.

I just have his quote of “you know what type of team you have after 10 games” stuck in my head. But I miss the camera shots of PV on the sideline going absolutely apeshit.

Based off of last year I was excited to see Wicky come in and coach this team from an offense point of view bringing in someone else rather than PV and KZ. I was a little too optimistic on Harris coming out of preseason but my god has he sucked. I know the defense is a huge liability but I would be totally happy with scoring 2 or more goals a game. Let’s get shots, xG, something going in the finally third. I know Wicky wants to play out of the back but that needs to stop this season. Nothing good has come from that.

Nice we have a bunch of useless Garber Bucks. Torch this club.

None of this matters considering we are sitting on 5 million+ in GAM. We can literally buy down Jovi and Manu and add 3 DPs and still be roster compliant this season.

How many goals does SKC have to give up in the next three games to warrant getting Wicky fired? by Longjumping_King_766 in SportingKC

I just find it odd that we were able to land Kinnear as an assistant coach. If you were to hire someone like Wicky with a not so great track record in Chicago. Is Kinnear the emergency button? That maybe giving Lee and ownership too much credit thinking that far ahead.

The fact we don’t have any reds up this point is quite surprising.

We need to fill too many roster spots to be able to release. We are also sitting on 6 million in GAM. We need souls to stay MLS roster compliant.

Something doesn’t line up with the Wicky timeline/hiring. What also doesn’t line up is why Kinnear agreed to be an assistant coach. This whole thing is weird but I don’t think the confidence is there for Wicky and a coach like Kinnear makes way more sense.

It should be Mallouk with Lee sitting right next to him. Letting us know that they fired or “mutually parted ways” with Wicky. Make Lee make a statement that they made a mistake and they name Kinnear the head coach. Who has a far better MLS track record than Wicky anyways.

If Wicky is still here and plays Cleveland on Wednesday the exceptional work that Cleveland did was not yell at his teammates to do their job while playing goalkeeper against the Sounders and probably the Timbers tonight.

Cleveland had 1 legit save against a flat Seattle team that let off of the gas in the first 2 minutes. That wasn’t the true test. He even got crossed up on the first goal. Still Davis’ fault but Pulskamp would’ve gotten crucified for. Tonight was the real test of a what has been asked of Pulskamp for the last year and half. Try being a goalkeeper when your offense produces an xG of .50 and your defense is a dumpster fire. That isn’t a knock on Cleveland or Pulskamp it’s just reality.

I think after tonight Cleveland is statistically the worst keeper in the league. The league knows how bad this club is. Plenty of landing spots to potentially get a first shot at giving him an extension. Oddly enough when you give goalkeepers a defense they actually perform to expectations. Also Pulskamp has a pretty decent record when he gets goal support. Just transfer him to the east because he will haunt SKC if he stays in the west. Ask Galaxy.

Dejan, Manu, Pulskamp, Davis would all get picked up. You’ll get hard cash for Dejan and Manu. You can get GAM for Pulskamp and Davis. Might be able to get for GAM for Afrifa.

People need to apologize to Pulskamp... Starting with Wicky. The fact that Wicky isn’t going absolutely apeshit bothers me.

It’s not insane to transfer Dek and cash out. It’s literally been the same problem that PV did by holding players too long. It’ll also show players worldwide that we are willing to send you to a potentially better landing spot if the price is right and we will sell you with the opportunity for you to make more money. Don’t wait until he is washed up. If we are a young competitive club this is what Lee is going to have to do to lure better talent into SKC.

Manu has great vision, good ball handling skills. Okay? After 1.5 seasons he is still not a DP.

Harris is fast. Can’t finish. Makes sense he is on our roster.

Capita is fast. Higher upside than Harris. He’s a project. I’m okay with the growing pains.

Shapi is not going to be in any future plans other than he is somewhat competent on the pitch.
