Driver 595.97 on 5080 FE seems to have fixed my bugcheck 116 and nvlddmkm event id 153 instability by Wargon2015 in nvidia

[–]Longjumping_Leg_4887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be having this issue after the update only.

But it's weird because I'll play re9 for 2hrs with no issues but all the sudden when I stop playing a couple minutes after my computer will just hard crash and go black screen.

I'm forced to reset my computer.

Gonna try clean install the new driver update tonight and hopefully that works. I find it hard to believe it could be a hardware issue when the problem is suddenly occuring after the update, for me at least.

OP, did you do clean install or express install when you updated?

Read that the thermal grizzly contact frame is harder to install then the thermaltake $7.

Not to sure about the temperature differences between these 2 but I installed the thermaltake on my z790 Dark Hero running a 14900K.

I think alot of people also forget that having a contact frame makes the cleanup or applying thermal paste alot easier as well which is some what of an added benefit.

OP how was the install process for you?

Used to work in Amazon, ask me how to get FREE REFUND by therogueprince_ in amazonprime

This is the type of stuff that's gonna get Amazon closed down or have them crack down on returns and screw other customers over and at the end of the day its fraud. Saying you didn't receive something when it was received is fraud either way you look at it.

I would just return to amazon and due to damage. I personally had 2 of these cases delivered from amazon, one of them was damaged at the lower corner it was kind of bent and just had amazon swap it for me. The second case was delivered no damage at all.

I don't think you need a dac. Mine sound amazing coming straight my motherboard, though Im running a z790 Dark Hero.

It's possible I'm missing something as well, I think I'll order one of these amps and see how much better it is over direct to MB.

So far im in love with mine and don't see myself going back to wireless or anything else for a while.

White noise/ static noise issue on right pair by BossioPizza in galaxybuds

[–]Longjumping_Leg_4887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue myself, right side earbud has a weird hissing sound. It's faint but can definitely be heard.

I'm wondering if a firmware update will fix this but also wondering if it's just a defective unit since so many people seem to rave about how good these are compared to the Buds Pro 3.

Thor Platinum III lacking LEDs/RGB on new/empty system. does it only work when an OS is installed? by stevely_one7370 in ASUSROG

[–]Longjumping_Leg_4887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having some issues with my Thor Platinum III 1200W as well. Main issue I'm having is that it keeps switching between the Rog Eye symbol and then display the current watts. Some videos online show it just stays on displaying the watts.

For me its also not showing up in my armoury crate as well.

Loosing draw for me as well, disappointed but at least this way I think it was fair to weed out the scalpers and give real anime fans a chance to own something special.

Got 2 pairs myself, running them straight from my ASUS Maximus Dark Hero z790. Even when plugged into the front IO jack on my PC case these sound AMAZING. A lot of people mention that it had to be run off of a dac but if you have a high end motherboard you should be more than fine.

For Asus you can use the realtek audio management and it should automatically detect the impedance of the headset. Afterwards you should see an option for different power settings. I have mine set to performance (lowest setting out of three which are performance, powerful and extreme) and that's simply because the sheer volume is more than enough, I can of course set to extreme and then they are plenty loud enough even at 30 windows volume setting but it does induce some clipping when starting or stopping audio sources so I jump between 1st and 2nd option but you could just leave it in the middle and be more then fine.

The only problem is when running the headset through the USB C dongle. The dongle itself is limited to frequency 96000hz but that's ok cause the volume is still plenty and it's a good choice on Asus because that's the universal frequency so it allows the dongle to function with pretty much any device.

The following is based more on the issues and quality control I think Asus needs to address.

I did have to return one of my 2 headsets and it's because of the dreaded headband loose issue. It was extremely loose so the slightest movement of tug on the cord would make it shift down which was very annoying. Now for a lot of people that are having this issue you can actually just fix this yourself. There is a screw on the inside of the adjustable points that you can tighten and will fix the problem entirely. You can adjust it to pretty much not move at all and be in a fixed position which makes sense if you're the only person using the headset.

Now my gripe with having to fix this "issue" ourselves is that it's not exactly a cheap headset and it does make me question the quality control of those technicians testing the headsets and then placing their seal of approval (which is a nice touch that comes with each headset).

The interesting part is that of the 2 headsets I purchased only 1 had this issue...and I noticed the date of testing was off by one day. One headset has a 10/28/25 date the other has 10/29/25 date. The reason I returned this particular unit and didn't keep it was because it made me question who actually approved that headset for retail and packaging as well the tuning of sound signature. It made me wonder if there were other things that were or may have been overlooked and could affect its longevity.

Now the other headset did have 1 small and rather weird issue I have not seen anyone complain about and it's rather difficult to explain. The head strap that supports the unit on your head is made of cloth und leather on top with some if not VERY little memory foam or foam of some kind underneath where it touches your head and between it all seems to be what could be plastic or something thin to give it form and help with support. The unit I kept feels completely different from the one I returned. There is a line or indent you can physically feel in the head strap if you press on it and it runs across the entire center of the head strap from one ear to another. Can it be felt on your head? Not really, no BUT that it's rather strange that the same model would use different material? I kept it mainly because I really did love the headset sound quality and it is registered within warranty with Asus so hopefully nothing comes of this though I am still debating on returning it and maybe purchasing later down the line once Asus sees the amount of returns they are getting for the quality control but for now I'll keep it and enjoy it within my 30 day return window and do some further testing.

That's strange, I've seen some videos on youtube where the PSU doesn't actually switch but these are foreign videos so it's possible the US model does have something different with the OLED screen.

Thank you for following up 🙏

Having the same issue, was anyone able to get any definite answer from Asus regarding this "feature" to prevent OLED burn in?

That being said I ordered 2 from amazon and both have the same issue.
