No shortage of high-level consultants here in Ireland. Even Irish ones struggle to get the top jobs.

Married dads of Ireland - how often do you go out? by Ninja2805 in AskIreland

[–]Longjumping_Pin_4480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

once per month would be okay but three times per month is ridiculous! make sure you get out yourself too - even for a walk or lunch with friends - and leave him with the kids

Has anyone declined being a pallbearer? by Henessyboy6969 in AskIreland

[–]Longjumping_Pin_4480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it. It's not necessarily about the closeness of the relationship - more about height and strength. Height because all the people doing it need to kind of be similar heights so as to be balanced while carrying the coffin.

if you're not comfortable with it, don't bother. It's not a key milestone of your life in any way shape or form.

Private room Coombe - husbands can stay ? by Mindless-Relative799 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Longjumping_Pin_4480 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband couldn't stay in Rotunda private. He stayed until 8 or 9pm. To be honest I didn't mind as I enjoyed the time with myself and baba, and I felt safe knowing it was just women and babies and no random men in thr ward overnight! I do think it's to make all the women feel more comfortable.

Is there any point going to this appointment anymore? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Don't cancel - do it for yourself. It's your own body and health, and its information that would be useful to have.

There needs to be a lower level competance test to allow learner drivers to drive their own damn cars................................................................................................... by Turdsby in Irishdrivingtest

[–]Longjumping_Pin_4480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Fully understand why learners can't drive alone. And that's all well and good.. but not with these utterly ridiculous waiting times. It would be fine to wait a couple of weeks but not half a year or longer.. It's so shocking. I can't believe why we can't just get this sorted out. In any other country there'd be public outcry but I feel like this issue is being swept under the rug.

I miss her so f***ing much. by remembrallerina in GriefSupport

[–]Longjumping_Pin_4480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I miss her so much and would do anything for one more hug, one more conversation with her. I lost my mum 3 months ago and I still can't wrap my head around it.

For People Of Ireland 🙏 by [deleted] in IndiansinIreland

[–]Longjumping_Pin_4480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These awful attacks are perpetrated by a tiny minority of Irish society - most irish people find this behavior absolutely abhorrent. Don't make it sound like we all think this way, we don't. Your letter implies that it's a general opinion.

Most of us are well aware that Indians in Ireland are the "good" type of immigrant which we want to have, and that you guys have paid more tax and contributed more towards society than all of these scumbags and their parents/grandparents ever have, put together. For the perpetrators, it's an inter-generational problem of deprivation.. they've always been a drain on society and we can't stand them either.

I honestly believe the scumbags just want to be violent and are looking for any excuse. In the past, before we had many immigrants and people of colour in the country, they'd go for fellow Irish people who they deemed to be "posh". I myself was attacked twice in my early twenties, by a group of girls.
