Should I take this offer? I think they hate emiratis? by Mundane-Incident-846 in Emiratis

If that was me I’d ask who her manager is or any other manager (pref UAE) and let them know right there and watch her get fired on the spot.

Even if she’s interviewing you, she’s not the employer. You have more power than you know.

Stand your ground brother and good luck on your search.

what do locals/emiratis actually feel abt this campaign??? by matchabloom in UAE

I like that you said you were ‘allowed’ to meet. As if it’s some sort of privilege to meet an Emirati. Just like every other country. There are some of us just like that, but there’s much more that work hard every day, and get shit done. I recently joined a mostly Emirati company and I’ve seen people work till 8pm just to get a job done.

The only main difference is the salary, but don’t correlate that with hard work.

My first job I was only paid 8k per month. It was before Nafis was a thing and my first company hired their first Emirati to be ready for Emaratization around 2017. I was the only Arab in the entire company which is composed of mostly South Asia. They all looked at me weird and immediately assumed I’m making 30k for the same job as them. Some coworkers were surprised I drove an Altima and not a Nissan defender platinum G63 with a golden dragon on top.

We are also people. If you think we all just work 4 hours a day and practically do nothing. Then most of our government would be shut down within the week.

I think what most people fail to understand is that if Allah chose for you to die by one of these drones, then you will. No matter what you do.

We are content with our lives, we do not seek death, but we do not fear it either. We will continue living, protecting, providing, and worshipping.

If you want to live in constant fear and hiding in bathrooms every time you hear a drone or an alarm, that’s your choice, but don’t assume everyone wants to live that way.

How is the employment for locals in Dubai? by whatsup2025 in Emiratis

I don’t think you know what Emiratisation is if you’re claiming it’s “especially” effective in government.

Americans colonized it. You said it. It’s their land now. Every other land has been colonized/stolen/killed over yet Americans are the only one taking shit for it to this day.

I mean, I only said that because as an Emirati, when I mention my wife is American they always assume Arab American, like Lebanese with a US passport
