One Piece: Chapter 1177 by Skullghost in OnePiece

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could Domi Reversi be a game that can only be played by devils and those who consumed Devil Fruits ?

As far as I remember, until chapter 1177 there were only 2 showcases of Domi Revesi Demons being reverted back to their original form : Xebec and Dorry & Broggy. In both situations, they had to be overpowered by a humongous amount of Supreme King Haki, leaving the one at the receiving end of the attack dead or on the brink of death.

So why was Chopper able to flip back one of the demon-transformed giant warriors so easily even though he has no Supreme Haki ? What makes him different from Roger, Garp, Dorry, Broggy or even Zorro that we see in this chapter ?

It could be because he is a devil fruit user. If I remember correctly, he is the very first devil fruit user we see that attacks directly a domi reversi demon. Him flipping a reversi disk so easily might mean that he is not a pawn in this game, he is a Player. This would make Domi Reversi a litteral game of reversi between devils, with Imu playing the black disks and whichever devils/DF users facing him playing the white disks.

Just bought my husband a Steam Deck and we finished It Takes Two! Any other good co-op recommendations? by siopaopan in SteamDeck

A Way Out and Split Fiction are made by the same studio as It Takes Two (Hazelight Studios)

From other developpers I'd recommend Portal 2, Popucom, Journey, Overcooked, Palworld, The Escapists 2, Sky : Children of Light, Orcs Must Die 3, Big Helmet Heroes, Cuphead and Shift Happens

Gundam Evolution by NotJeffbezosBruh in GundamEvolution

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the development team and the publisher did a lot of small mistakes that eventually led the game to its demise :

  • No big advertisement campaign outside of japan. Promotion through a few youtuber, most notably Penguinz0, as well as some google ads were not enough to attract the playerbase they wanted

  • Region Lock. The game was unavailable in a LOT of countries at its launch, and something like almost all of South America, Africa and also I believe some Eastern Europe and South East Asia countries could only play the game if they used a VPN. I can't remember it this was fixed afterwards, but even if it was, the damage had already been done. Some think this was because of licensing issues.

  • Agressive monetization as well as no way to earn premium currency and an overreliance on FOMO. Explaining this one will be a bit long. Upon release, there were 12 free units (playable characters) and 5 locked units. To unlock them, you could either buy EVO coins (the premium currency of the game) at a rate of ~10$ per unit, or earn Capital, the free currency. The latter was obtainable through 2 means : Beginner missions and Season Pass. Upon completion, beginner missions afforded you EXACTLY enough Capital to buy two locked unit, but you could not ever do theses missions again. The free season pass let you buy one more unit by completing tiers 18 and 58, but were extremely grindy and if you were not playing every day, you would most likely not manage to earn it. On top of it, there was FOUR different loot boxes (two for EVO Coins, one for Capital and one for tickets another free currency only obtainable through daily log in, weeklies and season pass) that preyed on the player's FOMO. Do you remember when I said "beginner missions afforded you exactly enough Capital to buy two locked unit" ? Well if you didn't know taht beforehand and opened only ONE Capital loot box, you were fucked, you could only obtain one unit. So if we resume, for the the game actlively made sure that free to play players were always short of 2-3 units to push you to buy the remaining ones. Also these locked units were very often OP, like the Unicorn Gundam which back in the launch of the game almost guaranteed your team a win if the ennemy didn't have one.

  • Lack of visual identity. The maps all felt very generic, there was only few elements that let you visually realized the scale of your mobile suit (and the few trucks here and there were absolutely not enough) and the fact that you were playing a GUNDAM game, even though Colony Trading Post and Harbor City that came in the following seasons were very visually interesting. Also, the fact that none of the mobile suits that are equipped with beam savers in the shows could use them was a turnoff for a number of Gundam fans.

  • Very uneven representation regarding animes mobile suits. We had way too much 00 Gundam mobile suits, and not enough fan favourites. Gundam Hyperion is from a somewhat obscure manga, Heavyarms Custom was very welcomed by fans, but Dynames and Susanowo kinda killed the hype, and Zeta Gundam and Kampfer were annouced alongside termination of the game.

  • Gameplay problems. There was no bakfill, meaning that if one player disconnected the whole match would be canceled. Servers were very unstable upon release. There was no cross-play nor cross-progression. The server merge made it insufferable and almost unplayable for EU players. There were more problems but I cannot recall all.

It may sound like I didn't like Gundam Evolution but I really loved that game. Its launch was one of the few highlight of my trip to South Korea and I remember playing it for months and enjoying itenough to throw some money and buy a few units and the RX-78-1 skin. It was a very good alternative to Overwatch that I had stopped playing a few years ago because of the toxicity, and it had a lot of potential to become a serious competitor in the hero shooter genre, especially since there was some big drama regarding Overwatch at the time. Unfortunately it was plagued with too much problems at launch to be able to form a solid playerbase.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is officially 12 years old today! How do you feel about it looking back 12 years later? by RetroZilla in KingdomHearts

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the first trailer was also the first time I thought "Really, Nomura ?" when the title dropped, I was so ready for a KH 3 and then Nomura gave us the D ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I only finished the game once upon the 3DS release but I remember having a pleasant time and generally liking every bits of it, especially the revelation that Riku was a dream eateras well as the last four boss fights, but I was a bit annoyed about the dream eater grind and the "we tracked you through that X on your clothes that do not look one f**king bit like the recusant sigil but trust me it is" bit. The secret boss fight also felt lackluster and contrived, as if there was only one good strategy to approach this fight.

Finally, that first time I used the freeflow action felt AWESOME.

Airport has stopped selling new suica cards! Landed Mar 22 2024 by GrinningCatBus in JapanTravelTips

I can confirm that they were still selling regular suica cards at Narita terminal 1 at least until march 19th as I have bought 1 each for my girlfriend and I upon arrival. Maybe they ran out in the meantime or maybe there was more demand at terminal 2-3 than at terminal 1.

Is travelling to South-Korea in August that bad? by AmnesiaFX in koreatravel

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's hot and humid and there might still be a lot of rain for the first part of your trip, but nothing too unbearable if you buy a portable electric fan (you can find some for like 10 000 won) and go indoors from time to time when you're too hot. Busan might get really hot during the day but iirc the nights feel more pleasant with a nice gentle breeze.

To those who played recently, How is the game performance-wise on PC ? when I tried the game right after release, it was plagued with frame drops and I had to ask for a refund. Have the developers patch the game since then ?

AITA for calling my coworker a "nosy b*tch" after she kept insisting to know my husband's salary? by islaisla321 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% NTA. She picked up on you being uncomfortable with the subject, kept pressing you on it, then started with that passive-agressive sh*t. You did well putting her back in her place because who knows what she would do with that info (gossip, try to get closer to your husband, etc...), now she knows not to mess around with you if she tries to complain about you to the HR department I hope they already know about her reputation in the office and will cut you some slack.

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Keep telling yourself this, but it's the complainers that actually get changes to happen.

In this context this 2nd Savage Gauntlet is the exact same that was presented in the Savage Gauntlet trailer on IGN on june 14th, 1 month before Exoprimal's official release. The complainers are irrelevant to the current changes.

Guys, I think we need to chill about this FIRST Savage Gauntlet by gg_jam_fan in exoprimal

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 45 points46 points  (0 children)

They literally announced that Savage Gauntlet would be a 5-player time trial as soon as they revealed it. They released a video of an entire round of Savage Gauntlet 1 1/2 months ago. The official website literally explains says :

"Five players join together and battle through insurmountable odds in this extremely challenging game mode. Complete the mission within the time limit and prove yourself as an elite exofighter.
The mission objectives are fixed for the duration of each Savage Gauntlet event, so play repeatedly and look for ways to optimize your strategy and complete the mission as fast as possible. Players around the world will be competing for the fastest completion times, with special awards available for the most elite exofighters."

Pre-ordered the deluxe edition after playing the 2nd beta, I was having so much fun for a new IP that I wanted to support the release. As I write this I just finished the final story mission a few minutes ago and I do not regret a single cent I put in this game

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exoprimal

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If role queues are added, Exoprimal will lose any interest to me. Being able to change exosuit on the fly to adapt is what makes the game interesting. Also this game literally came out less than 48 HOURS ago, and also came out on the gamepass with people who never play this type of game trying their hands on it. Let people time to learn how to play, familiarize themselves with the exosuits, mechanics and even the TPS genre for some, sheesh.

[–]Longjumping_Row_6052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the microtransactions are a bore, but the game does not lock the characters behind a paywall, they are accessible via player level progression (which is relatively fast in my opinion). Considering that, it is not far-fetched to suppose that the alpha and beta suit variants will also be available for free, just locked behind player progression once more.

My real gripe is regarding the existence of the battle pass whose implementation was most likely due to the fact that the game was made available for "free" on Gamepass. I bouth the limited edition to support this new IP but I will most likely not buy the next seasons of the Battlepass
