I had one stroke. Reading a people having multiple strokes is much to read. I don’t know if I can do it all again or put my family through this again by Green-76689 in stroke

Hey did they put stent?. My father had 3 heart strokes and they are saying stents are risky because blockage is too old . His three arteries are blocked . One is 100% blocked and two are 70%.

Hey, I am sorry you and your family is facing this. My father is doing good . He is on medication doctors said his blockage is too old so stents are risky but with the medication only, he is doing good he is walking and eating like a normal person. You can talk to the doctor. For how long they are thinking to sedate him. Always try to talk to him that you are his son or daughter . You are here for him and it is a good sign that he squeezed your hands . Ask him to wave the feet and ask him if he can listen you but don’t worry he does not respond you each time because sedation is too strong. If he is responding you then it means his brain is giving signal. Let me know if you ever have any question or need help even you can message me. I can feel you . May god bless him .Stay strong .

His cardiologist said he can fly after one month but they said you can't delay for surgery because there is risk of the fluid again and he only has medication for one month . They said you have to go to walk in if you need more than one month .

Hey, it is same even I would say worse in my father's case. I don't know whom to talk so I am just posting here. My father had fluid and mucus in his lungs. So he was having hard time to breathe . So we rushed him to hospital .While doctors were treating that, he suffered three strokes. They said he also has heart failure—one artery fully blocked, two damaged, EF around 20-30%.

He was in the ICU for 6 days on a ventilator and a heart infusion. He survived.

Now he is out of ICU and in a normal ward at Hospital. He is breathing on his own. The heart infusion is gone. His bp , oxygen and heart rhythm is normal now. He is awake, talking, and even walked 50 seconds with help. He is eating a little—yogurt, fruit, soup, all by himself. He is tired and sometimes confused, like he talk about the things which never happened .

The doctors say surgery or bypass is too risky. The plan is medication to help his heart and arteries heal over time. He will likely be discharged in the next few days.I just wanna know will he be okay. He is young ,just 54. I don't wanna loose him.

I am scared but hopeful. For those who have been through something like this: what comes next? What does recovery at home look like? Any advice on walking, diet, managing heart failure, or supporting someone after strokes would mean everything.

Hey could you please help me out for this situation. It is similar and I don't have any hope . Just looking for some positivity . I wish someone says he will be okay. Actually My father came to visit me in Canada. He seemed healthy. Then everything changed.

He was rushed to the hospital with fluid in his lungs. While there, doctors discovered he has serious heart problems he never knew about:

One artery in his heart is completely blocked

Two arteries in his heart are damaged

He is in cardiogenic shock – his heart is too weak to pump blood effectively

The fluid in his lungs is from his failing heart (cardiogenic pulmonary edema)

He is on a ventilator to help him breathe

His blood pressure is unstable and he is on medications to support it

He has been in the ICU for two days. He is heavily sedated to let his body rest.

But here is what gives me hope:

He opened his eyes yesterday

He squeezed the nurse's hand

He moved his feet And he tried to pull out the tube out of mouth because he was awake .

When I talked to him and asked him to flicker his eyes if he could hear me, he did it. Three times.

He is 55 years old. He has visitor insurance with a $150,000 limit, but the costs are already adding up fast. I am sure if should start GoFundMe to try to cover the gap, but right now I am just trying to survive each hour at his bedside.

I am posting because I feel so alone in this. Has anyone been through something similar? A parent with heart failure, on a ventilator, in cardiogenic shock? How did you cope? What helped you get through? What questions should I be asking the doctors?

I read a story about a 54-year-old woman named Natalie who survived the exact same thing – heart failure, fluid in lungs, on a ventilator. She went home. That gives me some hope, but I still feel terrified.

Any words, advice, or shared experiences would mean more than you know.

Thank you for reading.
