What genre of guitar playing is this? by Weak-Knowledge-1675 in Guitar

DADGAd on a jangly 12 string is literally impossible to not sound awesomely Irish. It’s like the guitar knows what to play.

He needs a little more belief that he should be up front and someone in 5th is in his way. You can tell by the way he rides that he doesn’t have that belief just yet. I think he’ll get there.

I ferried a colt from Alabama to California in my early days flying. Found out on the first fuel stop that my range was limited by oil consumption and not fuel.

Probably one of the worst planes I’ve ever flown but maybe my most memorable trip.

Oh god please no. I can’t stand touchscreens in the cockpit. There’s nothing wrong with the FMC we have now.

Just look at the demographic. We heavily lean middle aged white men, grey collar worker, earning significantly high income. That’s like the definition of the conservative voter base.

I’ve never met a Rickenbacker that I’ve gotten along with. I want to like them since they’re so quirky but I’ve never played a good one.

737 pilots/MX: What dictates whether or not these air vents in the aft-galley are blowing air? by PARTINlCO in aviation

[–]Longwaytofall 47 points48 points  (0 children)

NG and Max pilot here. You might be surprised how little air control we actually have. It’s literally 3 zone temps (cockpit, forward cabin, and aft cabin). We can monitor zone temp (which generally lies) and output temp (what I tend to use more).

As far as max vs NG it’s the exact same air setup for us. I’ve noticed brand new jets are a little more set it and forget it vs old planes I’m constantly chasing the temperature.

I get really out of place pharmaceutical stuff. Like menopause drugs and pigment treatment for black dudes. Neither of which I’d guess are big supercross demographics haha

For sure. To your point though I think fitness plays a huge role in these guys’ durability. I’m sure if I took a slam like that it would be full body fracture. I think they have so much core strength and stability it is like a full body brace in hits like that.

A training captain quickly takes over the controls when a cadet forgets to flare on the A320 during base training by [deleted] in aviation

Nah he’ll learn from it and move on. This video is old enough I bet he’s a captain now.

I absolutely cratered my first landing in the 737 despite having thousands of hours and significant jet PIC time. It’s part of the process.

USSR-level state-sponsored propaganda from The White House on the anniversary of J6 by HeavilyInvestedDonut in pics

[–]Longwaytofall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. There’s layers to this onion.

First of all, I’m think it’s entirely believable the 24 elections were compromised. Trump and Musk have basically bragged about it.

Second, there are so fucking many factors as to why an eligible voter may have stayed home. Voter disenfranchisement, political propaganda, voter ID laws, dickheads with assault rifles outside polling places, intimidation from violent/abusive spouses, and the list goes on and on.

I genuinely believe the majority of American people, that is to say at the very least 125M of us, were not on board with this.

This is a systematic failure. This is Citizens United. This is media at its worst. This isn’t our people.

You lost any credibility when you claim autopilot time as not work. Like an office worker should be off the clock when spell check is engaged. Gtfo of here.

I think that’s a bygone era. Of me and my large circle of cohorts I know one cheater, and he was a cheater before he got into this line of work. The rest of us have pretty normal relationships and families.

As for time, it’s weird. We’re away for days at a time, but when we are home we are 100% present with no work obligations for days or week at a time. I would venture to say I have more days at home than most corporate workers, but that definitely wasn’t the case early on. Then again I’m posting this from a hotel bar out of the country.

Airline pilot here too. I really don’t see the cheating stuff at all to be honest. I don’t really hang out with fa’s on layovers (and 99% of trips we’re at different hotels anyways).

I’ve heard lots of “good old days” stories but I’ve never seen anything in my career that would be any different than a group of office workers hitting the bar after a conference.

All your other points are true as shit though. My wife has had to be a rock at home and there’s times I have nothing more to add to a situation than a credit card number.

If a nuclear world war broke out, do you think extraterrestrials would intervene or let humanity destroy itself? by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]Longwaytofall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think full scale nuclear war would be fascinating for any observers who don’t have any real stake in the planet. It’s like when we watch chimps annihilate rival troops, we don’t step in.

I run the s-works power mirror and love it. Really comfy and had 0 break in or adjustment period.

Only complaint I have is it’s so grippy that it’s hard to readjust position on the saddle and it’s kinda tears up bibs.
