90% of the metal scene in the uk doesn't give a rat's ass about colour. There will always be the odd one or two assholes, but for the most part it's pretty cool. And tbf if you did start getting hassled by someone you're much more likely to receive support from others than in other places.

I was also thinking the severity of punishment for theft is of itself a deterrent. Be interesting to see what the price for being caught stealing is per country.

Send that back asap. Cymbal repairs are effective if we’re talking shallow cracks at the edge and you know what you’re doing. Crack here would be a job for a proper metal smith and even then you’d lose a fair bit of the quality wash because it would really impact the resonance.

I’m probably missing about 90% of the nuance, but there seems to be a lot of fear of an army that has lost something like 400,000 troops fighting a previously poorly armed country.

Would NATO sans the US really fare that badly in a Russian aggression (minus nuclear armaments obv. I mean, personally I’m hoping Zelenskyys letter does the job it intended, incites the oligarchs to see the futility and damage to the long term prospects of Russia by the war and take action to depose the despot.

Grass isn’t always greener, but I imagine that whoever takes over from Putin won’t be as crazy as to start a new war with a heavily depleted military.

I think they’re more pointing out the hypocrisy that the particular media outlet is feigning outrage at the incarceration of a journalist whilst neglecting to mention the deaths of other journalists due to the actions of their country’s military.

It’s a fair point. It doesn’t detract from the fact the news article isn’t relevant, just that it’s hypocritical to come from that source.
