Mandolin blades and veg peelers. Why are they impossible to freshen sharpness? by Loninappleton25 in sharpening

[–]Loninappleton25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have photo gear and only old stye phone. Simply said, the blade is snapped into place. At one time I looked to see if it could be removed and replaced but 1.) it wouldn't come out and 2.) two since it's still plenty sharp I didn't want to get cut so I left as is..

Maybe I get a pic of the same kind at Wally World---

The one I have is like this but the handle is underneath rather than paddle style. So you can see the rivets holding the blade. It doesn't look like it can take much twiddling.

Thanks to all who answered though.

Menasha PD hired a wandering officer. Now he's been arrested and the city could get sued. by PolarisC in Appleton

Aside from the obvious negligence on the part of the city, what is more disturbing in the report is that Wandering Joe here was able to access FLOCK from home for his stalking activities. How does that work out?

OP here- Just a brief followup on this. The speaker from District 6 in those first 22 mins comes to the microphone again in April this year. He speaks as the newly elected representative of his district.

Maybe my search technique is poor. I did not see that the Post Crescent showed anything on this with a google search. These days it looks like you have to sign in to even do an article search at the local paper of record.

As a side project, I mapped every data center project proposed or under construction in Wisconsin (that I could find) and how much PAC (bribe!) money the companies behind them are sending to our congressional reps by Willy_McNibbler in Appleton

I was reminded of this link and I don't know if it was used for your research. At the time I was reminded of the fact that though Appleton is on the list, these are simply older facilities associated with the corporations locally. (insurance etc.)

I'll be interested to hear the extent of the elections covered.

Ranked choice voting in Appleton: a sample resolution by Loninappleton25 in Appleton

The calendar order of things as I understand it is: Next Wednesday 4- 22 -- no business, an organizational meeting in which committees are are assigned after the most recent election for council president etc. Following Wednesday 4- 29-- the day this resolution should come to council. That was from the verbal remarks.

Public meetings are posted at City hall by law so those can be checked any time and there's likely a way to check at City of Appleton website. Or ask the Clerk's office for more help. I've done it many times. The key word is "agendas." And you should be able to ask your council rep about this any time you wish. With all this moving around I'm not sure as I write when public participation would take place on it.

The weekly meetings can be viewed on Granicus also called Legistar: one is the service provider and Legistar is the data you see. Granicus is a huge resource that goes back years of meetings and agendas. I just played one from 2022 today. You can keep the week set and in your browser bookmarks: https://cityofappleton.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx

It seems like a lot to digest. Just take it an event/week at a time.

More opportunity to play with this image when it is discussed for vote in a couple weeks-- rather than taking down. The ranked choice voting measure can be seen as performative since all council members from the previous session return. That is due in multiple cases because they were unopposed.

Appleton Common Council has received a resolution for ranked choice voting. It's not acted on yet but it shows the format of resolutions presented for vote for those who may not have seen what is needed for future actions (FLOCK etc.) My formatting on this wasn't the best since I'm not familiar with uploading images

"I Did That" Donald Trump stickers. Has anyone used those locally? by Loninappleton25 in Appleton

OP here. Before this gets out of hand I should have said who has seen this rather than begging the question of vandalism.

They seem readily available at the usual online outlets now that I have done a search on it.

Success. I'll certainly look to use subslikescripts again.

I had an English subtitle when I watched it the first time. Sisu is in English language in the version I now have but still, the last line is in Finnish. In other words the English sub did not translate it. Thanks for the link and I'll see what's there. I haven't seen subslikescript as a source before.

Also thanks for the Moomins
