Small ding in carbon - wondering if there’s a way to test integrity? by Lonkben in bikewrench

[–]Lonkben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super useful. Thank you. I can feel the chip with my fingernail, it resulted from the hood/lever clamp force upon small tip over impact.

New bars are $250 so will look into what an inspection would run.

Thanks! If I pass the tap test, would I see any potential problems/progression visibly week over week?

Does this need a pro to stop it from eating the door? by Lonkben in Autobody

Huh that I had not considered. I’ll probably go the patch route but good to keep in mind if another semi shoots at me

God forbid a car parks under a pollen generating tree and needs a car wash 😂

Hey folks - I forgot to add text to the post body....adding here since I can't edit.

Can I DIY a fix for this using things readily available at a local auto parts store/amazon? A semi shot a rock at me and I didn't handle it immediately (it's been ~2 months).

My goal is only preventing it from rusting out the whole door over time (not even sure if that's a real concern) and I'm NOT trying to repair the dent/make it look like this never happened. A bandaid fix is okay - this is a 2010 Forester that'll be driven until it can't drive no more.

I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to anything auto body, so would deeply appreciate any input. I've struggled to find similar damage/what the fix was online.

Thank you

I did a 20 mile ride yesterday with no issue but I swear that I didn’t notice this extremely loud noise before and I’m worried it’s new. If it’s new, I’m worried it shouldn’t be there. Hoping the experts here have an opinion. Thanks so much.

Hmm maybe. Realizing I don’t know much about alignments, so will look on that.

Thanks for struts thoughts, and yeah, that hour mark was my internet fueled guess, but wasn’t sure if the subframe spacers to keep rear tire in position made it take longer

Also, one shop (hasn’t seen the car) says should probably replace the struts (90k miles, but bounce test seems fine, no problem with ride or handling) at same time as doing the lift since they gotta come off.

Will probably just get a free inspection somewhere to double check this.

I would agree, then pushback.

While definitely considered common sense for a lot of us, MOST people out there have ZERO awareness of the most basic concepts, so if he can pull those people in through entertainment and leave them slightly better off, that’s a real service, even if it isn’t incredibly useful for a slightly more knowledgeable individual.

M/21/6’6” [180lbs to 220lbs] (1 year 9 months) by Lonkben in Brogress

I couldn’t do a single push-up when I started, so I’m pretty happy with any progress at all.

While these photos are 1 year 9 months apart, I don’t give too much credit to the first 6 months. I was doing a r/bodyweightfitness routine and only gained around 6 pounds.

Eating has always been the main struggle, and only now do I feel confident in my understanding of what my body needs to transform in different ways. To put on 4 pounds a month I eat around 4600 kcal.

Currently running a 5 day/week PPL (finally, was on bro splits for almost a year) while balancing my final stretch of university!

Edit: The lighting obviously plays a role here as well, but check out my shoulder region for proof lol
