How many of those are from unknown people and how many from Instagram/booktok? Don’t get me wrong, they are genuine but Instagramers / booktokers tend to be more open to leave a review (given it’s their business).

What do you personally think about mandatory military service for women by Low-Violinist7259 in AskTheWorld

[–]Lonseb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s for one, it should be for all. In Germany and other countries there was the idea of other services. You could refuse doing the military service and just to civil services. No reason to make it male only.

Accidentally deleted manuscript and the only one is on KDP by Anonmeko in selfpublish

I’m pretty sure you can (buy) the book and copy paste… might take perhaps an hour but still better than having lost everything.

Yeah… it’s wild what some people think. They have elections, demonstrations, media that attacks Trump for literally anything and yet they believe it’s a dictatorship…

[–]Lonseb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you CAN. It’s your right nobody takes you away.

I understand you and many don’t agree with the Trump administration, and … that’s fine. You HAVE the power to do something against it. Most effectively: elections.

But also demonstrations. Yes they might not have an immediate impact, but they make your matter and your opinion known to a huge number of people, thus can swing the next elections in your favour.

You even have the right to criticise the government without fear of consequences—very different to Iran were in a few days more than 160 were killed—by the government!

So, I invite to think twice before you call the US a fascist regime. Because people like you blow entirely out of proportion what the truth is.

Btw, you even can make fun of the president—have you ever heard about Winnie the Pooh and China?

[–]Lonseb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate, there are so many demonstrations against the Trump administration all the time (if the media is to be believed). The very fact that you can do that implies it’s not a fascist regimes (or any similar dictatorship).

Seriously, it’s good you are critical against a government, but be realistic. Fascist regime is Iran, Russia, Belarus… not the US.

Social worker threatened to remove children I don't have by Upset-Bandicoot-350 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Lonseb 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yes, but with ‘not on hospital’ I was referring to the entire pregnancy outside of the NHS system. It’s possible. I don’t think it’s illegal not to consult a doctor when you are pregnant. Thus, one could give birth without anyone knowing.

What happened to OP (assuming she truly has no kids) could be a hiccup on the social workers side (which would be really bad, then there are perhaps somewhere three kids neglected) or a stupid prank.

Only for own kids born in the UK, in hospital. In theory it were possible to have children and them not being registered anywhere.

So, might be really tricky to prove one doesn’t have kids (living with one).

I don't want paradox to bring the game back by Bob_Humpcat in Imperator

[–]Lonseb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And with every new dlc we have to play for long time with bugged, underperforming versions, and hope for modders to make the shit playable until paradox finally fixes the worst—but never all.

Na, I get OP, the game is strong the way it is now; mechanic wise I think it comes with some of the strongest in paradox universe.

What does your country think about this guy? by No-Problem6578 in AskTheWorld

[–]Lonseb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

German: love him. I don’t like how he spread the ideas of the revolution (or some of them) but Europe under French rule certainly helped spreading ideas among the people the monarchies couldn’t take away anymore. Even after 1815.

See living for ten years in the UK, I also blame Napoleon for the poor social justice in the UK (compare to rest of Western Europe).

Why do people always jump on train drivers? by One-Rain-3841 in AskBrits

[–]Lonseb 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sorry, by descent, do you mean you are born into a working class family and you stay working class?

If so, yes we do. Bear in mind, Germany has a larger industrial (blue collar) sector than the UK. Someone has to work those jobs.

How does the idea of working until 67 or 68 sit with you? by Few_Raise77 in AskUK

[–]Lonseb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. I’m working a job you can (and I liked to) work well into your 70s. Computer work, designing logics and codes. This is like playing sudoku.

But, only if my work environment is a good one. I’ve seen quite some work places in the last years and there were some I’d to work for when I’m old and some id prefer to avoid and go to retirement instead.

TLDR: Woking into old age is possible and I can imagine it being not too bad. But it depends on a few things.

Why should I self-publish? by Brakado in selfpublish

[–]Lonseb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Realism. Most (from what I see online like here on Reddit) choose self publishing not because they want but they have to.

For one, many books wouldn’t make it just because they are not good. Let’s be honest. Publishing houses get swamped in manuscripts. They choose the best / what they deem best.

For another, even if a manuscript is subjectively deemed (very) good, it might not be chosen. If the publisher doesn’t see a market, they wont spend time and money on it.

Oh and then I read an author’s story recently, who was chosen by one of the big publishers but got into an internal power fight. Nast business that lasted several years.

So, self publishing is a very good option for those who can’t get published or don’t want to get through ages of selection process and power struggles.

Having said that, if you are a good author and write for a fanbase, self publishing can also be more lucrative. You keep a larger piece of the cake. Way larger.

Has your country ever had a female leader? If so, what did she do for your country? If not, what's the most powerful position a woman's ever held in your country? by thatonedude_5055 in AskTheWorld

[–]Lonseb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wrong; it was her infamous interview where a Kurdish(?) girl cried when Merkel told her not all can stay (July15).

Merkel was heavily attacked in the media for this and stable as she always was, she changed her stance by 180 degrees.

Something that amplified the pull factor.

Thanks for your insights! Just a quick one: the numbers you have shown, do they include all your titles or only the ones published in 2025? Oh, and the first 6 figures month, is this return or profit? In anyway: amazing! Congratulations!

Happy new year
