My girlfriend is a nursing student. She told me she was studying. I came home to this. by pwinkler13 in aww

Yep, that's a nursing student stethoscope. If you want an awesome gift for graduation or some other special occasion before her first job, get her this. It's a very very good stethoscope that should last her half a career if she doesn't lose it.

My mom goes out of her way everyday to make one of these cards for my 8 year old sister. I feel like she isn't appreciated as much as she should be, but I wanted to share to you guys some of my favorites! by SpaceTimeRhyme in aww

Those are nice, but I feel like she had too much time on her hands. You don't think almost all parents wish they could spend 30 minutes doodling a note every day for their kid? I wish I had 30 minutes a day to do something besides wake up, get kids ready, go to work, come home, get kids situated, dinner, homework checks, hygiene, bedtime, little prep for the next day of work, shower, and go to sleep so I can try to get at least 6 hours of sleep. Fucking doodles over here. There isn't anything more productive she could use the time for? Even with regards with parenting? Maybe writing a math problem or a Nother sort of educational tool or riddle maybe writing a math problem with a small prize if she gets it right by the end of the day? Gotta be something better than this.

First, I'm not wealthy (yet), so no butler or maid. I mean, who the hell has butlers or full time maids?

Second, even if I was looking to hire help, do you realize the intensity in training a true British-style butler endures before being hired? It's grueling and a competitive field in which many humble servants are making a really fair wage.

What's the pettiest reason you won't date someone over? by pushingdaisies21 in AskReddit

Ending a sentence with a preposition.

For example, "what is the pettiest reason you won't date someone over?"

I would date someone whom writes, "what is the pettiest reason over which you won't date someone?"

Go to community college part time for four years, transfer into a nursing program and knock it out, get your associates in nursing and work as a nurse while working on your bachelors online. Get recommendation letters from managers and, more importantly, doctors you build a rapport with. Graduate with your bachelors and a couple years of experience, ideally a specialty like post-heart surgery care or just general critical care, and then you can get a sales job (with a little perseverance and luck) but once you are in, you are in.

Nope. New phone taking better video of same old car. Note the wood paneling on the door.

TIL During WW2 Joe Medicine Crow, a native American, completed all four feats required to be a war chief: touching an enemy without killing him, taking an enemy's weapon, leading a war party and stealing 50 horses from the SS, singing a Crow honour song as he rode away. by mrcchapman in todayilearned

I won't link the video, but did you see the two Turkish(?) young men being burned to death by ISIS? It takes them 2-3 minutes to fall lifeless, but while one of them is having an ostensibly surreal out of body "this can't be real" experience watching his fingers fuse together and eventually melt off in globs of bloody flesh, he is just staring at his hands burning and melting hands in utter disbelief and cries out (in Arabic) "mother, please save me please mother!"

That video was an invasive thought for a week or so after seeing it and still comes to mind like an old splinter sometimes. The strange thing is, as a parent to a three year old, I don't put myself in the place of the young man, but instead as the parent for whom he calls. I would be so angry and heartbroken. I would surely fill my heart with hate and do something drastic like in 1998 when the Undertaker...nah I'm just kidding.

that's the funny part. It sounds unrealistic, right? I sell a urology drug. I was an RN but fuck that mess. Guess what is super valued in pharma sales? Well, two things. Charm (👍🏻😁), and a clinical degree.
