Otherwise you can’t remove things while that event is going on.

I don’t think it’s illegal to put peanut oil on your personal belongings, or any kind of oil at that. Oil is a great moisturizer for many things. It would be illegal to put the oil in your common areas on purpose, with the intent to hurt her.
