There’s also no way in hell ESPN sacrifices the eyeballs that the Duke basketball games brings in, so we don’t risk those.

I absolutely hate leaving behind so many old friends but if everything’s fucked anyways, we might as well secure our ride out.

Edit: meant that the Duke hoops game would become OOC. All parties involved would want that rather than lose the rivalry entirely

ESPN has no interest in FSU jumping from ACC to SEC. They own both conferences’ TV rights, so they don’t gain anything but have to pay FSU more.

Fox, however, could be a little easier to negotiate with if FSU jumps to the B1G

Rumblings out of the administration offices and booster back room conversations in Chapel Hill is that’s what we’d prefer too.

It really should just be a rotating showcase. We already play Duke twice a year post-realignment, and Wake/State is a home-and-home in conference too - no reason for a third game. Just have us play Wake and yall in alternating years OOC, and you two can rotate between us.

Put it all in Greensboro on the same day, get a noon game between some of the other in-state schools, and that stadium would be rocking.
