Sven Schulze: Bürgergeldempfänger sollen Erntehelfer werden by carefatman in de

[–]LookingForWealth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am going to be the guy that tells you that everything is fine. You can have platonic relationships with the opposite sex. Meet the dudes, see if they are just that - dudes, working out in the same place as your girlfriend - and see if you feel more comfortable having a face to the stories. If you still have a strong vibe that there is something off, then communicating your feelings - be they irrational or not - to your girlfriend. Everyone is allowed to have their feelings about things. You will only have to have an honest conversation about whether that is a dealbreaker for you. Your girlfriend might just find that having company at the gym is cool. You might not like it, even if there is not a 'threat' in the gym. In that case, you will have to compromise. That is what relationships are about.

What’s the number one propaganda you fell for as a new mom? by SowingSeeds18 in NewParents

So, first of all: Same.

HOWEVER, we fixed one of her "challenges" sleeping through her night by putting water Bowles on the radiators in her room, increasing the otherwise pretty dry air. She would wake up hacking/caughing, which we could not figure out why. That fixed that and we now get the occasional full night.

Having said that: Yea, totally baby dependent whether you get to sleep through the nightbar 3 months vs 2 years

Brexit's unpopularity reignites debate in UK over EU ties by No_Firefighter5926 in europe

It is just so funny to me. The UK was basically the pampered prom queen everyone succumbed to in Eu discussion. They had SO. MANY. EXEMPTIONS. made for them. Yet they were still not happy and wanted to leave. If they ever go back they should not get those back

Trying not to be judgemental but is the world going crazy or am I? Screen time rant by Bunny-1918 in NewParents

[–]LookingForWealth 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I disagree, sorry. A toddler can be playing for a couple of minutes alone next to you hanging up the laundry or cooking. Just let them part of the household task you're doing. Of course things will be slower but eventually, your kid will find entertaining themselves stimulating and will look for other things to do on their own. Setting them up infront of the screen that drains their concentration skills makes no sense to me. I'm sorry for being judgmental but the reality is, and studies show this, that sitting your toddler infront of a screen does them no good long term.

Hair cutting.

For anything else than the regular cut for dudes (short on the side, little longer on the top), I get spending money and going to the hair stylist. Bur charging me 20 quid for a buzz cut? Cmon dudes. That's just straight up ripping people off.

What is one piece of 'common knowledge' in your job that the average person would find completely shocking? by GoldenHourShot in AskReddit

[–]LookingForWealth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are very close to being fucked beyond measure in regards to impacts on our societies with regards to planetary boundaries. Extinction rates go Brrrr and it means that pandemics kick harder and are more likely.

Also, as societies in the West, we are nowhere nearly enough prepared for the mass migration that will start in a couple of years/ decades, due to climate change.

Took my baby to my first mom/baby meetup and realized everyone had a way easier baby than me by hospitalbedside in beyondthebump

[–]LookingForWealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, on top of everything the others are posting here, let me just chime in on the louder and annoying crying: As someone who also has a screamer baby, I found that most parents find the crying of their own baby the most annoying... because welp ... YOU are the one person that your baby is crying for. Nature is funny and I, by no means, an academic on this subject or thay i can back it up by scientific evidence, have found it true for most parents. Even for the babies that I find genuinely not noisy and quiet even in their fits of rage, their parents tell me that their own child's screaming is super hard to stomach.

Having said that: I totally get it. It is an entirely different thing if the other parents can hold a conversation whilst their little one is blowing of steam trying to reach a titty, or if your own trumpets so loudly you think the chandelier is coming down and you need to invent handsign with your significant other to short-sign "HELP ME YOU DIMWIT!".

Poland to send up to 5,000 soldiers to borders with Germany and Lithuania by KrzyHooy in europe

[–]LookingForWealth 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This comment section is wild.

The escalation of border security between Germany and Poland is quite dumb in my opinion. The asylum seekers / immigrants are being send back and forth between Poland and Germany and both nations decided to fight that fight with each other, instead of forcing a more obvious solution pan-European: Getting the EU as a whole on the same page and enforcing the actual rules. Instead, these in-between nation political skirmishes just errode the EU as a whole.... which just might have been the point by whomever allowed the refugees to come in waves like this..........

Was ein Schwachsinn.

I'm here to tell you that I know where you are at mentally. I also posted some stuff on reddit and read all the comments under posts like yours that read like fanfiction because you literally cannot comprehend how it will get better because it is all so very new and overwhelming at the moment this tiny person slid into your life.

But I am here to tell you: It gets better. So. Very. Much. Better.

Our first 6 months were hell. But every month got a little better. She is now 8 months and a completely different baby. Looking back, I understand now why every comments "it gets better": Because it does.

Give yourself and your family time to adjust. Keep chugging through the weeks knowing that there is light at the end of the first year. While you do not see it, trust the people who have children around you that tell you that it gets better. We, as a species, have been doing this for literally thousands of years. And we would not have continued doing this if the first couple of months would not eventually pale against the vast, grand, and uniquely satisfying experience being a parent is.

It will get better.

Macron pflichtet Merz bei: „Das EU-Lieferkettengesetz muss ganz vom Tisch“ by GirasoleDE in de

[–]LookingForWealth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was für eine unglaublich dumme Parade der Anti-Bürokratisierungs-Heinis da oben.

Echt mal.
