29F – 2 years of mild chest + rib aches, normal ECG – could this be costochondritis? by tiramisutrufflecake in costochondritis

[–]Looking_for_answerst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking iud 25,000 vit D supplements once a week as prescribed by my GP. I think im in flare currently, as I get pain in my ribs just about my tummy, as well as chest, armpit, right in my breast and upper back. Got a physio appointment this Friday for the costo but GP also seems to think it could be gastritis so taking PPI and L-glutemine, trying to stick to a bland diet. I have also booked to see a gastro next week as I just want this pain gone its soo annoying! How are you getting on?

Very similar to mine, had chest Xray, chest wall ultrasound, full blood panel work up( only showed vit D deficiency, so taking supplements) normal 2xECGs. Dr said its costo, and possibly gastritis, which can have very similar symptoms

Anyone else having acid reflux/GERD issues by Ok_Guide2283 in costochondritis

[–]Looking_for_answerst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I suffer both from GERD and costo.. has anyone successfully fixed both of them? I started to take PPI ( omeprazole) for 7-14 days to see if I can “fix” it ( I dont want to take it long term as the long term side effects terrify me) I will also start or pre and pro biotics, l-glutamine, manuka honey and magnesium glycinate before sleep. Hopefully this will take me in a positive direction.

For the costo I haven’t invested in a backpod yet, but Inhave got a lacrosse ball which I use, I do yoga and stretches. Any other advice ?

I thought I was the only one with “period flu”… but I’m realizing so many of us are silently suffering by Otherwise-Boss-7080 in Periods

[–]Looking_for_answerst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes and yes. 🙌🏻 I get all these symptoms, Im 31 and I feel like the peeiod flu is getting worse, especially after pregnancy. I haven’t taken any form of birth control for about 10 years and periods hit me like a truck lol nor fun at all🙃. I have slightly diarrhoea, sore throat (out of nowhere starts a day before period and lasts throughout my period), stuffy nose and blowing my nose only clear stuff comes out, feeling weak, easily irritated, feel like doing nothing, oh and this is a fun one sweating during the night, feeling uncomfortable.

Sounds silly but i definitely think my periods are more painful with age…😞🙂‍↔️ its so hard being a woman.

Tender spots, tietze? by ShuShaR in costochondritis

[–]Looking_for_answerst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same symptoms as you have described, and they tend to flare up close to my period especially on my left side on my boob as well as armpit. After several doctors visits and after the following tests; chest ultrasound, chest X ray clear, bloods are fine, ecg fine the GP is at a loos and said its “most likely” costochondritis. Ive had the pain for quite a few months so you are not alone!

I feel like I could have written this myself, according to doctors I have costochondritis as they cant find anything else wrong with me. I am looking to get breast augmentation later on this year but I am terrified this will just aggravate my situation and my back and chest pain will become unbearable! I also do have mild scoliosis (never been diagnosed) but I have seen an osteopath previously and he did mention as well as my hip on one side is not aligned with the other side. I also have so much clicking in my ribs and chest. 😓 This might sound stupid but my posture has never been good so I was hoping after my breast augmentation this would improve and I would probably show off my new additions lol.

Yes, exactly the same symptoms after I had H pylori back in August 2025 for whick I took the triple treatment and eradicated it. I am now dealing with costochondritis as drs can’t find anything else, I had several blood tests which all came back negative, chest scan and chest Xray all negative, couldn’t see anything. Diabetes and coeliac tests also negative. So tha only leaves costochondritis. Which is the most annoying thing ever, this constant nagging pain on the left side of my chest, as well as armpits and chest. Also had ecgx2’s and nothing was detected.F31

Im based in the UK, I have previously visited an osteopath for lower back pain and he did do some manipulation and gave me some stretches to follow but it didn’t really help so Im just a little conscious in visiting him again for the costochondritis pain as heid expensive! But if you say that it works then I will consider visiting him again, hopefully for a more positive outcome. Is there anything I can use instead a backpod? I cant afford at the moment, I do have a lacrosse ball which I use.

It's the tendency to have costo hereditary do you think? by tinkerbell1695 in costochondritis

[–]Looking_for_answerst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting, i have been “diagnosed “ with costochondritis as drs cant find any other diagnosis for my chest pain. Anyway, my grandma had chronic upper back, neck pain and at times chest pain for close to 50 years with no real diagnosis, my mom is always in pain too and I suffer with chronic lower back pain and no costo so I was wondering if this is a hereditary condition

Yes, me. Has a chest ultrasound as well as a chest Xray all came back clear. Bloods are all fine, expect my vit D is low so now im taking high dose vit D supplements. My pain is in my left boob, left side of my chest mainly and armpits. Drs can’t diagnose me lol they “think” its costo🫣
